Don’t get me wrong - I’m amazed at the detail he crams into the articles.
Sometimes postal vans, I seem to recall
Would not have picked Archer as a taillight man. Tail, yes - taillight, no.
“government-mandated consumption tax included”
Patsy speaks the truth
Do you ever think about anything else but taillights, Torch?
Our LCT is on top of the price of the car.
Sorry, I meant the same price increase as has happened in Britain, not the US. Australians would have to deal with the exchange rate, import taxes and possibly the Luxury Car Tax if it ended up over the threshold, which combined would possibly almost double the price to get one here. The US situation is indeed a…
The same kind of price hike would likely affect Australian 3rd party importers who tried to do this. It’s a shame, as I would have liked to see them here.
It still seems less useful than it should be - though I could be wrong about that.
You’re right, but the one thing that does cross the country regularly are trucks, often multi-trailer road trains. It’s a technicality, but arranging with trucks that are already headed that way to bring the oil is approaching net zero. I haven’t been west of the Victorian border, so I can’t say what that drive is…
Thanks for the confirmation - I’ve seen ones left behind, so it is as I suspected.
Almost. I’m about 3-4 years away from having mortgage-free dominion over 600 square metres of it. The reason I said it that way is I don’t know for sure if the other states have them or not (they probably do I would expect)
We’ve had these in my part of Australia for years, and I think they must have a weight sensor built in, because I have heard of people’s bins not being emptied because they were too heavy. The concern might be for the bin itself, not the lifting capacity of the arm.
Fine with me. I drove a manual twice at the start of learning to drive, haven’t touched one since I was 17, which is 35 years ago. To paraphrase Ferris Bueller:
5th gear - better watch out, one day you might not be able to open the engine bay of a Ford ICE car. Either that, or there will be an announcement that Ford will be making tractors again soon.
Um, thanks?
It’s already happening here in my state in Australia. They are going to charge 2.5c per kilometre/about 4c per mile. Someone has launched a court challenge to this idea though, so we will see what comes of that.
I have seen a couple of train cars made into living quarters on TV renovation shows over the years and I would not mind the idea of living in one. Here in Victoria, Australia, it would have been good to get one of the old style carriages, with opening windows, brass fittings and the like. Modern train cars just would…
