In the US market, it’s actually called Chalk. Makes a little more sense in my mind. Those crazy Brits...

I’m just glad they fixed the grille. It actually has a lower lip now! The coupe version has always seemed like it had a massive overbite to me. This roadster has toned that down to make it look like an actual Aston finally!

THIS! I did a rotation working with automotive leather (mainly for IP’s but same processes, just different durability standards) and I was amazed at how terrible leather is as a material to build with. You have all the chemicals, dyes, and coatings that basically turn it into a plastic by the time it’s done, but

..any MORE internal organs. !!!?????

I really don’t like the name, nor the cheap marketing with the Mustang connection (Mach E just doesn’t roll off the tongue very well. Mach E. Machy. Marky. Marky Mark...). However, I do think the car looks great compared to other in the segment, electric or otherwise, and I do think it will be a successful car.

GT350 of course. 100% ;)

I don’t know how many they are expecting to sell a year (I could probably ask some friends), but I do know they sold out on their first editions and got more pre-orders than expected (also don’t know that expectation). I think the car is going to be more popular than we enthusiasts are giving it credit.

They’re still in prototype testing on the Bronco. It launches this summer, so sadly no Palpatine level of stock... yet. On a side note, the test cars are causing such a stir at the prototype plants that they have had to lock the covers on the uncamo’d cars overnight, so nobody leaks them. I’ve never seen that before.

Curious to watch side of the launch you were on. My friends over in interiors had quite a doozy, though most of that was due to the way it was rolled out (like drinking from a fire hydrant)....

Totally agree with that at least for similar classes. That way someone won’t try to compare a manual Corolla to a PDK GT3 to a Leaf ;)

So I’m a manual diehard (I’ve also convinced 3 friends to buy manual cars), but I feel like whenever I have to give up my manual, I’d rather drive an electric car, with its instant torque over an automatic. No matter which auto I’ve driven, I’ve always left out a little frustrated (except for the PDK on track).

While looking down at their phones, sadly...

Interesting. I guess I’ve never appreciated that. I’ve driven both, but that’s actually something that I’ve never liked on direct shifters.

Now playing

Now time for you to learn even more British slang :D

Agreed. My brother has 2 kids under 2 and a half and it’s fascinating to watch them do the littlest things. Even playing with them, doing pointless things, seems more entertaining than going on a hike nearby. It all makes my wife incredibly baby hungry...

For what it’s worth, there are some easy ways to adjust/modify the pedal spring rate/feel and the shifter for relatively cheap in the aftermarket. I’m a manual snob and I’d definitely miss having stick more than having a bad one. That bad one would just push me to modifying it compared to leaving it alone.

That’s basically what they did with the V8 in the Ariel Atom 500.

This is my favorite shot of the new bare carbon version. Nicely menacing.

I love what one the Jaguar designers (subtley) said about the new BMW face!

I was expecting lens flares...
