Happy Friday, Hackerspacers and friends! What’s on deck this week? Got any cool projects to share or questions to ask? Achievements we should know about?
Sung to the tune of It’s A Small World! Happy New Year, Hackerspacers! I say that to you because it seems like the majority of folks came back to my work yesterday, and they looked at me oddly when I didn’t wish them a Happy New Year. I’ve been back for DAYS! You’re never in the office...
Hi everyone, a much belated Friday Open Thread rears its head...I was in such a hurry to wrap things up that I both slept in and spent the remainder of the morning working. How has your day been thus far - on what is hopefully the last work day before a long weekend? Any exciting plans? Or lack thereof?
Hello Hackateers! It’s time for our weekly open thread, in which you detail all of your hacking activities...no not that kind of hacking (...or maybe?)...and ask for advice.
It’s probably late afternoon for many of you by now, but I’m still quite asleep.
I...feel asleep at 10:30 last night. It’s not been exciting, just sleep deprivation around here. Except I upgraded from Yosemite to Sierra! I haven’t noticed cool stuff yet because my iOS was much newer.
What’s your weekend looking like friends?
Hello friends and lurkers! Welcome to the weekly Friday Open Thread of Hackerspace, that place that shows you how to do useful things and lets you brag about them too.

Hi, long time no see! The last couple of months have been busy, and somehow I closed my Backtalk page in the name of productivity, and forgot to come back. I’m the introvert who is finally doing teh political organizing stuff.
Welcome everyone to the Friday Open Thread hosted by your friendly neighborhood Hackerspace, the reader-run and moderated community associated with Lifehacker. It’s your annual opportunity to make ambitious plans for your extra hour (don’t forget to reset the clock on Sunday).
Welcome to the Friday Open Thread, hosted by Hackerspace, the reader-run community associated with Lifehacker! If you can think of nothing to say, today’s theme is doodling software. We all know that Liveskittles is plugging away in MS Paint - what’s your setup? That gif’s a 3D printer pen that’s just shipping after a…
It’s been a quiet day on Backtalk. As for COTD: I ate ramen all week and then ate 6 Reese’s and a 7 donut holes on consecutive days so I know all of k2b’s feels. I urge you to check out all of the stories on the morning open thread because I couldn’t really pick beyond the tacos. And there are open COTD slots for…
White Nonsense Roundup is a thing. The fact that this actually exists makes it better than MTV’s White Squad.
I like AUGHTS. It is a nice word. In honor of the TMBG concert I am going to next week (my first western music concert!), here are the songs that have been cycling through my head the last two weeks.
Hi all, there’s someone on the Hackerspace open thread who has been having a rough time sleeping. He okayed a share on another Kinja, so if you have resources, could you post them in response to his comment?
Welcome to the Friday Open Thread hosted by your friendly neighborhood Hackerspace, Lifehacker’s reader-run community. Lifehacker shares this thread to their site so we get the most traffic today, but we’re open all week! Today is a very special day, for it marks the introduction of WEEKLY THEMES.
Shane Bauer used his real name to get a job with CCA, which operates 8% of prisons in the US. I haven’t made it through the whole piece yet, but the writing is excellent and it has well-edited accompanying video. Tl;dr: private prisons are shitholes run by liars and someone got a camera and audio recorder inside a…
By some stroke of luck, I was actually on Twitter at a time to see Beejoli Shah’s tweet about her new email newsletter, Model Minority. The first one came out, and it’s an excellent roundup of all the things I missed. It’s so excellent that I forwarded it to my parents, swears and all. (The video above was the last…
Apparently, they are having a naval battle with hoses and shitty music in the Thames, and it is not a bad joke.
