It isn’t rewarding bad behavior, it’s correcting overly punitive state behavior. if you can’t get to work, you can’t pay your fine. super simple stuff, imo, and I haven’t had so much as a parking ticket in my 2+ decade driving “career” and I’ve never set foot in Oregon, so it’s not like I’m personally going to benefit

The issue is, when the punishment is only a punishment for the poor, it’s a misguided law.

I agree with that somewhat, but I think a better question is what were the fines for, and why are they so high in the first place? Not to mention there are thousands of laws that the average person doesn’t know that an officer can pin you on at a whim, that to me is predatory. There should be more improved ways of

I was pulled over one time for “exceeding” speed limit (45 in a 55, testing mpg in a Prius ). It was in El Centro, desert with a few of dips, middle of nowhere at night, no street lights, miles of straight roads. Absolutely no line of sight. A few cars and trucks passed me. I had valentine v1 gen 2 radar detector

As someone who actively tried to shop Hyundai and Kia dealers for an EV, I assure you their dealer network will go out of their way to ruin any momentum their Product Team provides.

I’m inclined to agree, although for some, that lifestyle changed for the better. Charging at home is much more convenient than charging when you’re out, and I’d say most current EV owners are in that category where they hardly use public chargers (except maybe to nab a good parking space at the mall).

Guessing the Fisker folks just voted for themselves.

Yes, things do get conflated like this in the tech world and it leads to stupid outcomes.

Self-driving is a hard problem and just because EV creates a drive train that is more easily digitizable does not mean that self-driving adds any merit to EV drivetrains if they cannot stand on their own.

This is a dumb poll if only because there is no alternative. It’s not like EVs are going away. It’s a matter of “when” not “if” for adoption and this survey smells of intentionally skewing results for an outcome.

If companies weren’t wasting half their resources on something no one asked for, self-driving cars, ramping up for more efficient vehicles wouldn’t be such a heavy lift.

I’m idly curious if that survey was pre or post Twitter acquisition by the Emerald Mine Prince.  Tesla’s stock hasn’t done so well this last quarter as Elon plays with his new toy.  And now there’s a hiring freeze and layoffs over at Tesla.  I wonder if those execs still expect Tesla to hold the top spot in 2030?

If CR only reported things that killed a vehicle and made it impossible to run, the best scoring car of all time would be a 96 Chevy Cavalier.

Vingroup has businesses all over Vietnam. You might buy groceries at VinMart and clothing at VinPlaza.

I want one, but I want a well made one, so that means Toyota/Lexus or Honda/Acura. Maybe I’ll stretch and think about VW and Subaru. I was curious about BMW and Mercedes bottom end offerings, but they are determined to price themselves out of being logical choices.  Nowhere in any of that would I have considered an

Wait ‘til you find out how much we spend on fossil fuels.

I listened to some of the video, and they didn’t mention sheet metal and steel beams. What they’re talking about is the failure of the rear seat belts and side airbags. Many automakers apparently didn’t design these systems well, so ...

If you tax away all the profits during the “feast” nobody is going to want to invest in that industry.

Back in my day we just called them neo-nazis and I think we should continue calling them that, as they share the same ideals and are nazi sympathizers. They can call themselves whatever they want, but I’ll call them what they are, neo-nazi dipsh***

Fucking TikTokers are like Instagramers with 10x the asshole.

Shit, that’s actually good.
