Strong disagree. Buffy did one offs within a main plot brilliantly. The X-Files pioneered the style and it worked wonders for them. Discovery’s weakness wasn’t the plot structure, Discovery’s weakness is its writing staff.

I dislike Discovery but the thing that is worse, for me, is that Picard was just so very disappointing.  It had a few high points but way to many lows.  Also it felt like they wanted to stuff way to much shit into a the show.  The androids, the Borg and the Romulans, it was all to much shit.

Hmmm, maybe you’re right. What about “Waiting for Picardot"?

This is really confusing to me because their are only three Star Wars movies.

His brain is about to implode and he won’t admit it at all.

...is a long-standing right-wing talking point.

Dig up, stupid.

Just take the L on this one. You thought S&R were cops, were completely wrong, and now are backtracking by dishonestly twisting what you said. Literally nothing you say here could be reasonably interpreted as the basis for why you made your initial comment. That’s the boldfaced lie part.

Well, maybe you can wallow in the sewer of Ghostbuster ‘16. That trailer was awesome and got me excited for the franchise again. The biggest problem with 16 was not that it had women in it (in fact, an all-female Ghostbusters film could work if it had the right writing team). It was that nothing was serious in it.

It’s a real stretch if you think recognitions wants to engage you in an actual philosophical and historical discussion of the ancient Greeks.

Why would the warship be transporting eggs? The Navigator had been chestbursterated, he ought to have known better than to check out the cargo, which was not stored anywhere special or safe.

That quote is very, very misleading. He said it in response to the organizer saying they wouldn’t be able to let all the elected officials speak at the gathering. To which this guy was indicating he wanted to speak. That’s when he said if he wasn’t in a primary he wouldn’t care [about speaking at the meeting when

Upon careful reflection it could be that I just really hated the movie.

It’s actually liberal propaganda because the fight for disability benefits even in a tough time eventually saves the day.

Or not. You generally need more than a single character beat to build a compelling reading of a text.

Yah, I didn’t grow up in the lower mainland but have spent lots of time there for family, lived there. That damp just gets into your goddamn bones. -5 in Edmonton is dry and whatever. -5 in Vancouver is fucking awful.

Yeah, I don’t know much about the situation, but people here seem incredibly eager to shit all over someone they have never even spoken to. It’s a tough industry. People can be harsh when all they ever see is the finished product.

At the age of 39, Joe Rogan was arguing that the moon landing was faked. This is the sort of utter stupidity that people don’t come back from unless they spend a good five years carefully recovering, but Rogan didn’t do that, because he’s too stupid to know just how stupid he actually is.

Shoot - I’ve had the pleasure of watching Newsradio reruns on a station here called Antenna and am flabbergasted that Rogan could be the most successful out of that cast. Goes to show talent only goes so far and appealing to stoners and incels is profitable.

Dear people making this show,

Hm. So is there an interview explaining why the post-Nemesis Federation is using 150 year old technology? Because all of those assets they reused from Discovery suggest that there was a technological regression. Also, when the replicator can make any food programmed into it, why were the workers on Utopia Planitia
