He’s not wrong here. He wanted to try something new. To take risks and produce something original, and not just a throwback to the original trilogy. To make a Star Wars movie for the current generation of fans effectively, and so the angry fanboys are going to lose it and throw threats his way. This is why I’ve come

Now playing

I’d like a Fensler Films version of G.I. Joe, pls.

Yes. I think most of the hate is stemming from fan boys who feel they are losing their grip on their favorite thing and are lashing out. I saw Star Wars when I was 6 and my childhood to a small degree revolved around waiting for the next Star Wars movie. It even helped set me on the path of being creative

No, this is a work of dadaist genius. I tip my hat to you, sir.

John Stalvern waited. The lights above him blinked and sparked out of the air. There were demons in the base. He didn’t see them, but had expected them now for years. His warnings to Cernel Joson were not listenend to and now it was too late. Far too late for now, anyway.
John was a space marine for fourteen years.

Not its fault though as hangar rental fees and values have skyrocketed since its parents’ generation, vastly outpacing income from smuggling opportunities.

SO well put. Thank you!

i liked yoda’s point about learning from failure. the jedi failed. it’s time for them to focus less on dogma and more on the spirituality, i guess you’d say.

You absolutely nailed it right there. I’m an “old timer” so I’m having trouble with that, but I’m also realizing it’s time to adapt and move forward. It’s a very strange feeling.

We’ve gotten a BIT of the deconstruction of the mythical hero in tiny bites from Marvel (Iron Man 3, Civil War) but I have NEVER experienced a tentpole blockbuster go so far to subvert tropes and expose the weakness of relying on archetypes to a drive story. I can get why some folks are disappointed a particular

I loved that every single thing that Poe did was a complete mess or backfires spectacularly. The opening attack on the dreadnought is a pyrrhic victory that resulted in heavy losses for the good guys, he nearly screws up Holdo’s plan and his final stand against the First Order’s assault is completely ineffectual.

Or — TFA was just a rehash of Star Wars! TLJ isn’t just a rehash of ESB!

I can’t believe they killed off Snoke in the middle of the fucking movie and then had Kylo Ren take over the entire First Order. That is such a ballsy move.

Fans pre-Dec. 15:

Did everyone notice those Jedi books in the Millennium Falcon at the end?

My favorite part was Spock’s surprise marriage to Gandalf. DID NOT SEE THAT COMING

No.

I’m surprised and disappointed by the amount of negative fan reaction, especially in comparison to TFA, which I also enjoyed but was a much more flawed film.

Where have I seen this befo— OH HOLY SHIT
