Hey - I think this is of interest: I quit Private Internet Access after 3 years, because of its cost. They offered "up to 76% off any subscription" to re-suscribe.

I also used to be on PIA, but gave it up after some time. Bad custommer support and problems with the client were the trigger, but the main cause was that the company is based in the USA, which means that your traffic is very much unsecure.

It really depends on your platform and your connection. I am behind a “Great Firewall” that uses Deep Packet Inspection to kill OpenVPN connections. I currently use Private Internet Access (PIA), NordVPN, ExpressVPN, and Mullvad. I regularly switch providers throughout the day, depending on my device and use case, Read more

Mullvad VPN is great, they were independently audited to be 100% no-log. In addition the company is outside of the jurisdiction of the United States and has many high speed servers all over the world. I pay about $5.50 per month.

I’ve been using Private Internet Access for a few years, and have no complaints. There are a wide number of locations to choose from, and the dev team seems to be invested in making improvements. Cost is reasonable too. The only issue I’ve noticed is that it doesn’t play nice with some password managers (I believe Read more

I got in early on a lifetime subscription for Windscribe for just $40 thanks to an ad on kinja and I haven’t looked back. It's easy to use and has served me well over the years.

Man I hope this discussion skews strongly towards discussing the relative discretion and security of VPN providers with respect to serving 2 masters, their users and the growing corporate/governmental interest in receiving data, something of which VPN providers inherently have droves. If privacy and a desire for both streaming content from other countries then nothing tops ExpressVPN. Their servers are all over the world and you’ll rarely have issues streaming Netflix or other content from anywhere you’d like. Read more

Personally, I prefer Perfect Privacy. Unlike other VPNs you’re allowed unlimited device usage, so you can install it on all your devices if so inclined (computers, phones, tablets, routers, etc). It’s focus is solely on privacy but you do get the addition of included ad and malware blocking. Read more

NordVPN is disqualified, simply because you can’t spend two seconds on this network of sites without seeing atleast three ads for it.

Saw the headline and thought “ Yay! I can find out which one other folks like, maybe I can glean enough information to make a wise choice.” Clicked, read, scrolled down and.......................................crickets.  I probably will, but I need some consumer feedback.

I’ve been using Mullvad for some time now, and love it. It’s easy to use, has advanced features for those who need or want, and is purchased and priced right.
