Lmfao I love this example. Was at a design conference last year and one of the speakers was putting an either/or question on the board, then everyone would move to the left/right/center of the room and have a couple people explain their choice. The question was something along the lines of “Is it the fault of the

In the end, gossip always wins.

No-no, to make your poorly thought out point it should read “but every single major game release for the PC MUST ONLY be available on Steam.”

I really hope they can release a Vega 56 sequel for $400. An updated version of that card on 7nm sounds veery inciting. That paired with next gen ryzen, Imma be a happy AMD boi

Very interesting idea here. Apple and NVidia basically hate each other at the current moment (STILL no nvidia drivers from mojave) and a card like this that’s great at gaming but even better at productivity... Mmm Mac Pro users would love that.

“forced”? Sell it on both, increase the price on steam because of how damn high their margins are. If steam starts blocking developers because they have to sell their games at a higher price, people are gonna be pissed at steam. Turn valve the big bad corporation, the enemy in this ordeal. Don’t do this exclusive bs.

Yeah big picture this move doesn’t change much, the spontaneity of it seems to be what really caused most of the backlash. It’s just frustrating as a consumer to have more and more fragmentation in PC gaming, I don’t see why they don’t sell the game on steam but factor in the margin % differences in the different

These are good points, I agree lootboxes are on a much higher level of importance than this issue so me using it as a comparison wasn’t justified. As many others have stated, the point of taking it off the store two weeks before it was released with no statement or warning is what seems to have triggered more of the

Thanks for the reply! Yeah I tried responding on my phone last night but I couldn’t even scroll on the page, had to reset my computer this morning because a single chrome window with kotaku opened had my tablet at 65% cpu usage lol.

It’s a dumb practice, but seems companies are moving towards it. Look at Disney and their Star Wars movies once they release their streaming service.

Yeah agreed. I mean looking at this big picture, EA has had almost all of their games exclusively on the Origin store for years. It’s annoying and I hate that they do that but in this case the spontaneity looks to me the main cause of distress.

My whole stchict is that they aren’t selling the game at all on steam. Sell the game for $63 on steam so they make the same amount per sale as selling on the Epic store. At least have the balls as a company to announce you are doing this and explain why instead of just seemingly out of the blue. Everyone has released

So I don’t see the promotional momentum you speak on other than a single post on their page, but given how convoluted the steam store is, game like exodus would stand out more on the Epic store.

“Died due to stress from opening another program on computer”

Can’t argue this one lol.

Sell the game on steam for $62.86. Let people choose where to buy their game at, make people get angry at Valve for forcing developers to price their games higher because of how high their margins are.

Hmm, good points. I’ve been making the point of if Deep Silver just sold the game on steam for $62.86 so they earned the same amount per game in the Epic and steam store AND explained why their prices had to be a bit higher in steam, that puts the ballpark in Valve’s hand because majority of people want to stick with

100% agreed. Just release a statement and be honest Deep Silver :D Sell your game for $62.86 on steam so you earn the same amount you would earn on selling the game in the Epic store, so the blame goes to Valve for their crazy high margins. This is something I would hope to receive less backlash than just straight up

Sell the game for $63 (62.86 to be exact) on steam so they make the same amount of money they would selling the game on epic, and be transparent as to why they have to have the higher price.

Sell they game for $63 on steam, meaning they earn the same amount of money per game on Epic and Steam. Don’t force people to have to use a service they have no incentive to use. Eventually with the lower prices for customers, they’ll either move to another store (prob not likely lol) or start a movement against Valve
