Originally I thought it was also a fake pipe, but it is actually valved so only open sometimes.  If you look closely, it looks like you can actually see the screw holding it on, but that’s actually the pivot point for the valve.  Most BMW drivers don’t accelerate fast enough to make it open.

I considered it for a while, but it wouldn’t be life-alteringly different from my ‘16 WRX. My WRX is almost identical to my ‘99 9-5 in dimensions/wheelbase/color combo except that it’s + ~100hp and awd.

That sounds awesome.

I wanted a Turbo X back when I had my ‘99 9-5. I still think they look stunning, but the service department at my Subaru dealership (many of whom came from their now closed Saab branch) said they are great to drive but also expensive to keep on the road.  I want to say CV/Axle or driveshaft issues were what they cited

*Favorite “finish” that the T4R comes in!

Jealous of the Cement Gray!  I think if used ones weren’t going for new prices... I’d be in one!  That color is so good that it has ruined all 4Runners that aren’t Cement to me...

Agreed on inflation adjustment, but there’s also a reason that a lot of JLs are sitting on dealer lots with deeper discounts right now.

The JL pricing is still significantly higher than the JK though (not saying it’s not worth it). Jeep took the strategy of “that’ll be another thousand” for just about everything.

100% agree - it’s like the seat belt laws that many states have.

This feels more like the BRZ STi that we have all been asking for versus a new WRX STi...

At work there was a spot that large trucks kept driving over, ruining the grass (semi-tight corner). The drivers just didn’t care enough to make sure they cleared it.

You can also spend an extra $20, and get a passport card.

Agreed, pretty crazy.

To clarify - the EJ20 is dead, the EJ25 which is in the current US-Spec STi is not dead.

You’d be surprised. My understanding is that the Subaru dealerships live and die by their reviews for service / etc from customers. The more/better they are rated, the more funding they get for amenities and other incentives to keep being good.

Totally agree and aware of all of the above! We just went to this dealer because it was 5 mins up the street, and I wanted my wife to test drive the car before I cast my broader net / wasn’t planning on buying there unless they gave an outstanding deal. We have a great relationship with another dealer ~30 mins away

“It’s written right here on the website, it’s the internet price even though you’re here in person.”

I think the journalist fussing about the lights staying on is comical - the whole point is they are experimenting with ways of managing jet lag on the route. This isn’t that much different than what frequent business travelers do on US-Asia flights with modifying sleep patterns.  I highly doubt the airline would force

I think this was just a reference to what happened in the link below.  Arguably poor execution by marketing:

I was impressed with the A-Pillar visibility in my WRX, then realized it applies to most/all Subarus. They mount the mirror to the door panel, then put a small triangle of glass in the corner of the A-Pillar instead of mounting the mirror there or blocking it with a piece of plastic.  WRX vs. GTI posted below:
