The only comparison I'm making between the Focus and Porsche is the purchase price.

They seem to be hated in the US, but in Europe I'd say the Mk4 is regarded as one of the best Golfs but one of the worst GTIs.

That's a MKIII! The MK4 Golf was a good car, but not a great GTI.

My 1987 Civic Si was pretty weird. First US spec Si model brought to the US.

MkIV Golf (not GTI). Sporty enough, even with the base engine. 87 octane. Maneuverable, engaging, and just unreliable enough to keep things interesting. Spacious, practical, and far more unique than the generic Jetta (in the US). The VW aftermarket community is a good mix of anal maintenance and tweaking. The car

It's especially odd they put it lower than the Beetle, since the Beetle will have all the same problems along with the lame body. I think a collective 9th for the entire generation (golf and beetle) with a special mention for the Beetle as being exceptionally bad would be fitting.

but like actually though. I'm on my third MkIV-era VW, and even my badly abused 1.8t GTI never let me down right up until the day it died (via crash) at 140,000 miles. Maybe I'm just lucky.

I won't argue reliability. What I will argue is almost every other aspect of the car.

no, because it's pretty

I must have been lucky then.. had a MKIV for around 7 years and never had any major problems

Can't explain it, these things have always seemed so cool to me, handsome styling, and the ones that had the hatch window that opened and closed. Perfect for the dog in my mind.

Mercedes sold a few C300 (06 to 09 I think) that had 3 pedals.

While funny...no...Wawa > Sheetz.

It was a bit dumb to think it would succeed this side of the pond, but the Phaeton was a damn fine car that failed miserably.

Too expensive, and not even a Synchro. Here's one for half that price that was refreshed by Westy's a minute ago. Much better deal:

tires, I can't imagine they want a 37 inch tire rated for that kind of weight and service duty to be spinning at those speeds.

not a fan of these at all

Plexiglass wheels

America needs to revive Packard or at least continue working on Cadilac and Lincoln, but definitely not Bugatti.
