It’s sort’ve been an area of study for me for awhile so I always try and tell people. In Vermont I’d look into earthbag construction. It’ll be a bit more resilient than cob or rammed earth given the climate, though with a well designed foundation and roof you could certainly do cob there too.

Friendly tip; look into earth based construction. It’s cheap if labor intensive, holds thermal mass very well (so that wood stove will heat you comfortably), and you could get most of what you need on site, particularly if you build partially below grade (also good on the insulation/cooling front).
