Don’t lump corn and cellulosic ethanol. Corn ethanol was never more than farm subsidies but cellulosic ethanol would be great if someone could make it work.

Oh yeah, my dad had a friend in the Navy who suddenly had his annual tax bill become more than he had paid for his house a few years earlier. Unfortunately, it’s resulted in really high-income taxes.

You can’t. Property tax rates have a maximum set by a State constitutional amendment. The same law also set limits on how much the assessed value of a property can change without a sale.

Actually, by posting it on Twitter you probably gain copyright protection.

Had to do the same for other sources as well. Centralia Indiana was evacuated due to a coal mine fire (that is still ongoing). Hydro dam construction and failures have displaced hundreds of thousands of people.

From a death standpoint, there are plenty of direct deaths from dam failures, power plant explosions, and mining accidents. Not to mention climate change and pollution-related deaths.

There have been fewer deaths from Nuclear power than any other energy source.

Overall I think it’s a good concept but I-70 through Denver is one of the major arteries of commerce in America and given the property value boom in Denver in recent years I doubt there are many re-routing options.

safer for the cyclist...

In my area, almost every cyclist run stop signs and very few cars do,

You’re assuming they are infallible. The rules exist for reason.

No running a stop sign or red light in any vehicle is wrong, just like crossing against the light as a pedestrian. No one sees a car run a stop sign and says it’s okay.

I used to be a motorcycle rider until someone decided to jaywalk through an “empty” intersection (they apparently did not see me). The resulting maneuver I had to take to avoid hitting them resulted in 3 months on crutches and 6 in a boot (I still have a limp).

Except when cyclists break the rules they make it more likely that they will get hit. Everyone has a responsibility (oh and there have been multiple deaths in SF from cyclists hitting pedestrians).

Taking the last three words is hardly cherry picking.

to Doylestown, Pennsylvania, a small town of just over 8,000 residents,

..fight you pussy.

I may be cynical but most voters are not homeowners so blaming rich people for high prices makes good talking points for politicians and the people with real power already have housing. There is also a high level of corruption and incompetence. We voters funded housing for teachers several years ago and exactly zero

People try but there are density and height restriction in most of the city except SOMA. The city and NIMBYism caused a large percentage of the current problem.

Well in SF the streets are one gigantic homeless shelter. These NIMBY folks spent a fortune to block the construction of new housing in that same area.
