I have no problem with Jaxxon, I remember liking him in the comics. I’m curious what his connection is to Larry Hama and Michael Golden’s Bucky O’Hare. I think Hama shared studio space with Howard Chaykin and may have even filled in on a page or two of Star Wars. Is that how there came to be two big, green,

The costume design is cool but the Thing looks wrong. Terrible even. Thing is not a rocky Hulk. Somebody give Esad Ribic a copy of John Byrne FF. Please.

I was going to watch the movie last night but decided to stay home and listen to records and draw instead. Part of me feels like not going to see it is why we can’t have nice things but the other part of me feels like going to see it is also why we can’t have nice things.

Part of me hopes he’s playing Pip The Troll

While the new 52 Secret Six took some time to come together I enjoyed watching it get there. It didn’t feel like a mainstream DC book. It was wild and violent and more than a little risque. I really liked it. My only wish was that we could have gotten more of that tension between Cat Man and Deadshot from the pre 52

Gail Simone is one of my favorite writers and probably one of the best in comics. Her Secret Six, pre and post New 52, is a classic. I can’t wait to read her take on Plastic Man. Good news indeed.

I agree with you that Icon would be a great choice for DC/Warner. That said, what’s wrong with John Stewart? For many kids who grew up with the animated Justice League he is THE Green Lantern. I like that he presents an opportunity to show a heroic black man in space and not stuck in a stereotypical urban setting.

I like Batgirl but I love Barbara Gordon. I have no desire to watch her get shot, sexually assaulted, and left a paraplegic, but I’m one of those old timers that really liked Barbara as Oracle. I don’t know if that would make a good movie but a story about someone overcoming trauma and disability to return as a

I really should be over this franchise. This is only a minute of random footage for a movie that for all intents and purposes is unnecessary and unwanted and yet here I am getting all worked up like an idiot all over again. See you at the movies I guess.

Now playing

Great list, even the terrible ones are worth watching. If you ever compile a list like this again please consider The Darkness’s I Believe in a Thing Called Love.

I will always love the DCAU that Timm was a driving force behind but I really hated The Killing Joke adaptation. I hope he does better on Gaslight and Red Son.

After Charles Soule’s great She-Hulk I couldn’t get into this version of the character. I tried, but I just wasn’t feeling it.

I’m betting that Mime is none other than Nathaniel Adam, AKA Captain Atom.

It looks like Marionette and Mime are variations on the old Charleton villains Punch and Jewelee. I think they were part of the Captain Atom (the basis for Dr. Manhattan) rogues gallery and I like what they’re doing with them.

Social media has put fans closer to creators and while it might seem distasteful to you, this kind of interaction is just the way things are now. A creator like Johnson doesn’t have to respond to pointed questions or criticism if they don’t want to. We all have the option to stay off social media. I think it’s good

I was really looking forward to watching this one. Sorry to hear it didn’t quite live up to its potential but I’m still going to check it out anyway.

Outstanding! You win the award for best post on TLJ of all time. Thank you.

I feel like you and I are pretty much on the same page but while I did mourn Luke’s passing, I also feel kind of relieved. Being able to let go of Star Wars is liberating. Being free from the direct tie to my greatest childhood hero allows me to fully enjoy these movies from an adult perspective. It’s well past the

I agree with you on the pacing issues. There was a disjointed quality that got tedious after a while. Kershner did a great job with juggling three plots at once in ESB, and Gunn did a good job on GoTG Vol 2. Johnson probably could have followed that model more closely.

I don’t hate the Canto Bite stuff. I actually really liked those cat/horse things they rode on. I just felt that it slowed the movie down too much and took away from the bigger story, the Resistance fleeing the First Order.
