I absolutely hate when waitstaff are overly gracious/chatty. I understand why they have to do it, but it actually makes me uncomfortable. I love non-tipping countries where the waitstaff barely talk to you. I also love going to our regular bars/restaurants where the waitstaff know us and know they can benignly ignore

I know you’re on this crusade that everyone will suddenly stop tipping and the powers that be will be forced to fix the system, but that’s a pipe dream. If you aren’t tipping now you’re just an asshole.

Customers were oddly attached to the practice of tipping.

Diners don’t like tipping period, we’re just forced to do it because of a greedy and fucked up industry.

Yep, Canadians banning american tourists during a pandemic is definitely the same as americans restricting mexican immigration all the time. You sure owned those liberal hypocrites. You are very smart.

You failed to get it straight - here, let me help:

Now playing

I like that you’re branching out from the food hacks but you forgot a vital item to bath time

You forgot one key item: don’t have children. Those of us that do laugh at the thought of taking a luxurious, uninterrupted bath. Maybe when they are off to college...

LOL! “Internet, show me anything I can think of.”

Perfect Engine aka Google: “I got you fam.”

I've seen things you would believe!

Thats really sick.. and also hilarious how “Real Americans” love dogs, vets, and fireworks. And the first two can fuck off on 4th of july.

While also selling your data and simultaneously declaring that it’s awesome for not selling your data.

I look forward to reading this article on disabling YouTube ads once someone posts an article on how to disable the autoplay ads on Lifehacker.

if I can read the damn sponsored content that pays for this site, you can watch the ads for youtube. Stop being a hypocritical cheapskate.  There is no need for clickbait titles like this.

Interesting from a technical standpoint, but I’d just like to point out that ads aren’t the enemy - they’re literally what pays for the video you’re watching for free.  If I’m watching a content creator that I want to support, I’ll let the ad run the full length instead of skipping, as they get more $$ that way.

I have a sneaking suspicion this is blown out of proportion just a little. I would bet the search algorithm is just seeing text in a picture and doing auto picture to text. I’m not sure about the tagging part, but I would guess if you take a picture of a license plate not on a car or just a post it note with a license

I too enjoy being pulled over and hassled by cops.

FWIW they blue the plates in street view. They may keep them in the backend somewhere as a back up of the original data captured but that isnt publicly accessible.

I think you may want to put the tinfoil back in the drawer. Anyone that uses google photos knows that googles AI can read and identify every detail of the photos you provide it. It’s not that it’s actively looking for or “tagging” license plate numbers, it’s just identifying alphanumeric characters via image search

Asking for more of the money is a good option, but ask away and see if you get it. Stop working for them, effectively strike, and then it hurts them and they MAY change their pay for the better.
