He’s got to be out of his mind if he chooses a Bolt over a new Model S, given that money is no object.

They replace the drive unit because it is easier to swap it out and send the entire unit back to California for service than to try and fix it at the service center. They just replace it with another refurbished unit.

The problem I have with the i8 is that at least on paper, it seems slow. The Tesla Roadster beats it 0-60 (3.7 seconds), though it might lose by a bit in the quarter mile. That would be ok, except the Roadster is now $~65k.

There’s nothing wrong with the state of EV charging. Tesla has the right solution with their superchargers, everything else is crap. Just a matter of time until people adopt it.
