I was more commenting on the claim that there was nothing like this - I agree it’s basically an entire subgenre, so I thought the description was weird and worth a bit of a quip.

So... It’s another take on Stardew Valley.
That was a surprisingly disappointing, if believable excerpt (which I appreciate by the way, hearing impairment does not go well with these things). Honestly, if not for how things have just sort of seemed to ooze out I’d have more expectations this year (I mean, why not, they don’t get better chances to announce…
My day has been weird about this, I thought I’d lost out, since EVGA queue times usually rely on being fast and I didn’t get in for hours. Turns out that the entire website was down or throwing errors for everyone, so I wound up getting my card shipped today. And I only payed about as much as a FE! Why, compared to san…
Sorry mate, didn’t even manage to get one myself despite getting up hours early. What a mess.
More surprised Twitch hasn’t done anything. Frankly, the sites rules and enforcement seem to amount to, ‘what will cause people to be pissed’.
Pretty much spot on. I can’t get a 3080, I’ve been trying since last year. I can get a 3080 Ti, and at below MSRP. Is it still grossly overpriced? Yes. But almost everything black screens for me now, including some indies, and I’m unable to troubleshoot the issue. Further, this shortage is likely to last until new…
Have a like the hilarity of the point that what you just proposed might actually work. I still don’t want to do it, but damn it’s incredible that prices have been driven that high.
Given card availability, I’m not sure how much competition in this realm really matters right now. Nonetheless, competition like this is at least a good thing for consumers in the long run. Honestly though, I’ve tried for so long for an overpriced 3080 that I’m intending to enter the EVGA 3080 Ti queue on the 3rd,…
I’m buying one through the EVGA queue system - it’ll still probably be cheaper than buying a 3080, since I haven’t been able to get one except at a massive markup. And at this point I’ve been waiting with a PC that blackscreens even on old games for most of a year.
Fair enough mate, and honestly my backlog is a weight as it is.
On the one hand, I kind of appreciate the general topic. On the other, we have very different taste in indies.
Is it just me, or is this release time for a trailer a comment on E3's increasing irrelevance even with the new format? I honestly kind of liked having the trailers all stuffed into one time period so I could peruse them personally
20 series are still going for around one and a half to twice their sticker price. That said, I actually sat around on a new build for most of a decade, this one is from ‘14. Honestly, with the stock problems last year, I just figured I’d delay a few months. It’s been most of a year now though, and I’m getting black…
I on the other hand, am past the point where troubleshooting is a reasonable solution to my PC’s problems, and still haven’t been able to get a 3080. Which is particularly irksome since BB made multiple drops in the early AMs just before I woke up this morning, and they only drop once every couple weeks.
I am shocked, shocked I tell you. Corporate being (supposedly) blameless, and somehow this being the fault of those darned uppity employees with their morals and ethics? Why, who would’ve ever expected such a thing. Not to worry though, corporate will have everything back doubleplusgood soon enough.
Honestly, I pretty much gave up on this quite a while ago. While for the first few years I argued that even for a major company AAA development takes time, their attitude has indicated a complete lack of sincerity.
I find it more weird that last I heard they’re still preparing the actual Olympics. And vaccination won’t be mandatory. I remember reading the explanation of their preparations and just being disturbed by how badly designed the preparations were. Plus apparently something like eighty percent of the host country…
Alright, you’ve convinced me, we need more original IPs.
I mean, quite apart from that, Discord is not a forum. Just flat out. It’s not just community stuff that suffers here, or bug finding, but it basically kills feedback dead. This is a terrible decision, and I say that as someone who currently has Discord open (admittedly for trying to snag a 3080, but still).
