I would be happy if there was never another Mad Max movie. I really would. I don’t know how you live up to Fury Road. I would rather see George Miller tackle something new and inventive. That said, if there IS going to be more Mad Max, I hate the idea of anyone else directing it.

NOT Miles Teller, PLEASE not Miles Teller. I’m not convinced that anyone besides a young Harrison Ford is sexy enough to play a young Han Solo.

You could be right about all of this. I have no idea because I forgot everything about this movie literally the second I walked out of the theater, so little did it move me. Except for the splitting headache I got from the 3D, I remember that.

He’s a trained soldier, so his ability to pick up a new weapon with passable competency, even one that is difficult to master and generally only used by the elite, isn’t much of a stretch.

You’re a way smarter/more analytical movie-watcher than I am. :) I observe and talk about things like that after, but it didn’t take away from my ability to be immersed at the time.

I like that interpretation a lot! I found myself super intrigued by Ren, too. So yeah, of course characterization is more interesting when there are layers to both the good and bad characters. Overall though I just appreciate having fictional spaces where you know who the good guys are and you know who the bad guys

Oh I see what you’re saying. Yeah, the one concern I have about these new movies is just how much they echo the original trilogy. I don’t have strong feelings about what I want to happen one way or another, but I do hope Ren’s arc takes its own turns.

Nooooo their shared look said so much and left so much up in the air for the next movie, it was perfect. Any words would have ruined it. I would say it’s the best final shot/moment of any Star Wars movie.

Poe+Finn=insta-brotp.

“The new cast is brilliant, and you don’t need to nod anymore.” <<thissss. I was super into the new story and characters so the constant callbacks took me out of it a little. At the same time, maybe it helps us transition from the OT while feeling like it’s one cohesive story. I imagine there will be less of that in

Agree with some of this and disagree with some of this.

Biggest disagreement is that I don’t want Star Wars to be Game of Thrones. I want it to be allegorical and morally black and white. I want it to be consistent in theme and message to the rest of the movies. Good wins over evil and all that jazz.

I liked that the

I didn’t think he looked pissed. Lots of emotions in that look - fear, maybe some hope - but I didn’t think he seemed angry.

He’s intentionally trying to emulate Vader, but the fact that his emotional arc mirrors Vader’s - he’s trying to resist the light side - was a pretty cool angle imo. I didn’t get secret good guy from his performance and I don’t find myself particularly interested in that as a concept for him.

This moment was delightful. :)

Yeah - I assumed they were setting her up for later greatness. :D #excite

I won’t be mad if it’s Luke but I kind of agree with you here. I loved that she was lonely nobody who has this incredible power within her.

If it had been too perfect it almost wouldn’t have felt like Star Wars. Is that weird? It did hearken back to the OT just a little bit too much, especially with the overall plot. That’s why losing Han - one of my favorite fictional characters EVER - actually feels right. We got some fantastic time with him in this

How do you learn from things you’re not allowed to point out and talk about?

The cool thing about SL is that she is dressed up like a sex slave and then *murders her captor with her chains.* That honestly is an empowering image. Unfortunately I don’t think that’s why the outfit has become so prevalent in pop culture. :( I’d be happy to see it retired.

“Warcraft fans will be coming through every millisecond of this”
