I had been wanting to see Promising Young Woman since the first time I heard about it, and in my view it’s Oscar-worthy. The movie was designed to make the viewer uncomfortable in every aspect, including the way Mulligan’s character is dressed and made up, and the reviewer completely missed that.

Re Hillsong - None of this will matter except that the church will disappear. I’m sure it’s an LLC, so whoever’s running it will pocket their millions, the company will go bankrupt, and everyone with shitty, dangerous houses will be left holding the bag with no company left to sue.

If I understand this correctly: basically, Reddit figured out how to manipulate stocks in the same (legal) ways hedge funds do, but the apps people use to make those trades are essentially owned by the hedge funds. To stop the hedge funds hemmhoraging money, they’re forcing the apps to stop allowing (not rich) people…
