Good! I’m glad to hear that you had support. I had a friend who was more upset about her pet’s death than her fathers and she was seriously flayed alive by her family. Like you, she’d prepared for his death for many years and felt like it was a huge relief not just for herself, but for him.

Thank you for sharing. I have run into that opinion quite a bit. I’ve also struggled with some of her books because the characters seemed to me a little boring. Have you read “Oryx and Crake”? I’m curious what you might think of that particular world and the characters themselves.

Agreed. It’s going to take a lot. I live in a pretty progressive part of the world but even I’m getting tired of even leaving the house for anything other than work and exercise because of some of the things I’m hearing in the most innocuous places (like waiting in line for coffee).

I believe they take something called a “week end” several times a month. Very strange.
