Great article, but the solution used in the Citroën DS and SM was more elegant and more effective. Alas, it was also completely illegal in the US, as the US headlight regulations from the early 70s were penned before WWII. This meant the SM had a really drab-looking face in the US.

So when a Volvo C70 "Hulks-out" it grows Buick Enclave taillights and gets really ugly. Basically.
