Spider-Man is running SHIELD?!

The costume is honestly the only reason I followed the comic for as long as I did. It's seriously one of the coolest designs we've seen in a very long time.

Not kidding: I've seriously always thought she was Robert's daughter all because my friend told me that little "fun fact" during high school. I just found out today that it's not true at all! Oh no if only we had wikipedia back then!

I think it could be argued that Anthony Wong, Eric Tsang, and Tony Leung are better than their counterparts in the Departed. Let's match up some obvious ones:

Unpopular opinions:

I agree with them. Most of those anthologies give excerpts that are so short that they leave me with no interest in buying the books!

I'm digging Old Man Logan a lot more than any other ongoing version of Wolverine I've read. He's such a sad character who is noticeably different from other versions we've seen.

That's a real letdown. I really liked the version of Helena in Grayson. She felt like his equal. I've always seen Huntress as a second-tier member of the Bat-Family. Even in Gail Simone's original Birds of Prey, she seemed to be playing the role of "The One Nobody Likes."

It's really good and was a very pleasant surprise after the very bad rollout they had for this particular incarnation of the character. He started out in Captain America & the Mighty Avengers still inverted from the AXIS crossover and was written like a huge asshole. Remender didn't do him any favors in the All-New

He is a really hateful person and I'm glad that his politics don't really come through in the writing. I'd say he's more extreme in his beliefs than Bill Willingham, but at least he was able to focus on the storytelling. Willingham's politics started to seep into Fables in really ugly ways.

I had the same problem and worked around it by reading it from the library. It's tough because no matter how you shake it, Upchurch is the co-creator and he'll benefit from any other licensing or adaptations in the future.

I've been back at work for a bit over a week and it's been pretty good. I've been stepping up in leadership and am trying to get promoted at the end of the year, so I returned with some trepidation over the pressure but it's been going well so far.

Joshua Dysart, writer of Harbinger and Imperium (plus creator of Generation Zero), recently did a reddit AMA where I learned that Valiant rejected his pitch for the new Harbinger Renegades book. That was really disappointing to hear, since it definitely feels like Imperium is the second act in a long-term story. The

I'll toss in Ivar, Timewalker as my favorite thing he's written so far. He's been at the top of my "Why aren't more people talking about this creator?!" list for years.

Oh cool. You learn something new every day!

It also doesn't help that adult-skewing animated films don't really do well in the US. There are not that many big budget ones being made today. Every now and then a big studio will try, but they're usually faced with a bomb (Titan A.E., Final Fantasy The Spirits Within) or a very modest success at best (Beowulf).

This Travis Knight guy sounds like a textbook case of nepotism, except, uh… it turns out he's really talented and is almost certainly genuine in his love of stop motion animation!

I didn't realize it was her until the credits rolled, which shows how effective that vocal performance was. I guess I haven't heard Charlize use her softspoken voice much outside of that other role, which explains why it's not instantly recognizable.
