I’m not interested in any plantation-themed party that doesn’t involve actual planting. There’s no collegiate city-boys in the “Puerto Rico” boardgame!

I’ve seen Something Awful’s curated selection of posts from a bugchaser forum, so as bad as Twitter may be, it can’t actually claim the title of worst.

My guess is that he only made the poll in the first place because he’d gotten tired of the hassle of dealing with Twitter (following a deal he first tried to back out of).

I’m a millennial.

I don’t think YOU understand the issue, which predates Reagan. Jim Crow was specific to the south, but the Rockefeller drug laws were in New York, where Jim Crow could not exist to be “maintained”. This movie doesn’t take place in New York, but the real guy who died smuggling in the cocaine was white.

You know there are enormous numbers of people of all races dying of opioid overdoses now, right?

It’s been too long since I’ve seen Ferngully, so I can’t confidently disagree but I’m skeptical.

I hadn’t actually slandered Aliens yet, since Terminator is a perfect movie. But I will criticize it now: it reduces the horror of the original to have a bunch of aliens shot with machine guns. Ridley’s original had an unstoppable rape metaphor crawling through a spaceship-as-haunted-house. Cameron dumbed it down for

Mark Kermode’s review of the latest is too funny not to link:

Cameron peaked with the original Terminator.

Earlier this week I watched Dances with Wolves and Avatar. The former was WAY better than the idiotic latter. So I’m not slighting Costner’s movie (even if it’s not as good as Goodfellas) when I deride everything but the CGI in Avatar.

Woe is me, he only wrote the lyrics to West Side Story while the composer was Bernstein! Lydia Tar would have remembered!

I tried watching in the latter form, but Hulu only seemed to have the English dialogue version.

Halloween 2 is so much worse than the original, aiming for the lowest common denominator set by Friday the 13th and keeping Jamie Lee Curtis in a hospital bed (it’s mindboggling that Halloween Kills did the same thing!). Plus the stupid backstory connection. The 2018 Halloween is definitely better than 2, though it

Avatar 2 is scifi, and that will certainly get nominations.

I’ve heard nothing good about Halloween Ends. I was still planning on watching it because I’ve seen the previous two and at least four different movie podcasts I listen to (horror is my favorite genre) have covered it, but I’m surprised to see it listed here.

I assume it was to be an adaptation of this:

Apparently it’s a remake of a 70s movie.

Is that some British expression I’ve never heard of?
