I think they grabbed Trank by the scruff and put him in the corner while his movie was salvaged... Unfortunately, the salvage job failed. Fine, I can handle yet another origin story, but to tell that much plot then just kill the villain after such a small amount of screen time/plot time, was serious amateur hour.
