Not only were they insufferable, annoying and ugly, but seeing it in theaters meant no subtitle options because I couldn’t understand a goddamn word they were saying.

That movie is superb for somebody who had read the books and knows the plot and players. For everybody else it was confusing.

Glad he did, it was excellent sci fi and did a great job of condensing the book. Those that didn’t get it need to stick to Transformers or whatever.
