The most hook-laden, upbeat pop song, but with savage break-up lyrics!

Here’s a random theory.

The Volkswagon Pollup

I have a 1975 Alfa Romeo Spider that came with a brand new top when I got the car about 3 years ago. Because I have other cars, the Alfa only comes out in good weather. I put the top up basically when I wash the car.

Because she’s (mentally) ill, but doesn’t know it. Also, she constantly runs a mild fever, a side effect of her mutation IIRC.

VSB is one of my go-to daily sites, so folding it into the Kinja suite makes me happy.

Pressure is another reason not to kill the engine when the temp gauge is high. Once the water pump stops, the coolant pressure in the system drops, which also lowers the boiling point. So that coolant will become hot enough to boil over absent sufficient pressure.

What are you favorite uses for leftover roasted chicken? “ - leftover chicken, pork and steak transcend into enchiladas. If there’s not enough to roll up a pan of them, I like to shred the meat, toss into a skillet with some salsa, jalapenos, onions, etc. and make a base for tacos.

I wish they gave more info on what’s under the bonnet. Is the 1275 an A-series or A+? Aspirated, SPI or MPI? Why not go for a V-Tech conversion? What did they do with the suspension (stick with rubber cones or swap for coils)? Whatever they did, the car in the pictures is riding pretty low. Hope they used HiLo

Haven’t seen many folks wrenching on Minis in this thread. Not those silly German ones, but the real thing.

If your chief issue with 70's motors flows from carburetor issues, maybe you need to learn to love them. Apart from cold weather issues, I disagree with your take on carbs. Namely, the jetting and float issues cited aren’t really a big deal if you’ve cleaned them up and kept on top of things thereafter. I’m an idiot

Except for the comfy ride, this entire review aligns with my ‘62 Mini Cooper. Absolutely the most fun car to drive. Bare bones interior features. And more random affection from strangers than ....The Batmobile.

Fart cans are the worst. Like a Harley, all that noise with none of the side-effects of torque or power . . .

I share your view on these TED Talk futurists, but have a quibble. While the first working (electrical) telegraph system was created in 1816, it existed only in the creator’s basement. The telegraph saw no real practical usage until the 1830's

Aside from the Metro fumbles mentioned elsewhere, DC gets butchered in film. My favorite is Broadcast News (1987), because Holly Hunter’s character constantly lectures cabbies on the best ways to navigate DC traffic, but then uses nonexistent places or via absurd street references.

Seems to be a lot of work, when he could just have dropped a 350 SBC in that chassis . . .

This was better IMHO
