Let’s not. He paid for his seat, he should get his seat. I would have done the same thing, I’d have likely been forcibly removed too, and I would also be suing the shit out of the City of Chicago for the actions of their officers (or whatever government body has jurisdiction), as well as the airline. This guy did

He’s not breaking the law when the removal doesn’t fall within the FAAs Common Carrier policies.

“but when the police tell you politely to move your ass... you move your ass.”

He broke no laws. Company policy does not equal law. Even so, they handled it irresponsibly and it has cost them millions in this day, alone. He will be getting a very large settlement from United, if he doesn’t straight up take them to court, just because he can.

“They overbooked the flight.”

I doubt the “beat the shit out of you then let you back onto the plane to serve as a lesson for all the other bitches who are flying at our will” is though.

In what realm do you consider this “accordingly”? This was a gross over-use of power. They have the (bogus) right to kick people off of planes for something that is their fault and they could have solved in a dozen other ways, but he was not being a harm or risk to anyone and still ended up covered in his own blood.

“It’s not happening to me, so I don’t care!”

This guy is a doctor. I guarantee his rich colleagues will not be flying United.

Modern corporate America: The customer is always wrong.

I’m not flying united again. Ever.

No I did but thank you for assuming what kind of parent I am. Unless you were made the legal gaurdian as a teen it still isn’t the same as being an actual parent. I thought it was I thought I was so prepared but it’s not. And most of these commenters who are harkenig back to how tough their parents were when they were

Yeah I did that too. And ya know what it still wasn’t the same.

No one cares what the British think.

That’s the thing, you train kids, you don’t trick them. Tricking them doesn’t build good skills that independent, productive adults need...training them does.

Eh, I have a female partner who does everything “Tom” does. It is more infuriating because she engages in everything she fights against (such as gaslighting and ego-destruction.)

Yeah, like maybe he likes Pepsi
