Not... not Kristen Stewart herself! But, but this is about other people! And how much they’re boring her!

It’s really disheartening when you expect some kind of depth and thoughtfulness out of a person for unknown reasons and are then given bullshit. The same bullshit that you are always given. She’s not smarter than any of the other privileged, white women out there just because she’s dark and moody. She’s just ignorant…
I was really rooting for her to be referencing the folks with the platform to take action instead of just blanketing everyone, including those who are disenfranchised by the institutionalized racism. It went from something productive to “bootstraps!” rather quickly.
Kristin Stewart then went on to say, It’s like the situation in Syria. Just fix it, okay? Just do something and make it stop. And then it will. It’s so boring. Why is everything so boring. I don't care! Just like fix everything so I can go back to not caring about making any facial expressions in my movies.
What I heard there was “I can’t possibly know which of the nine dozen women I’ve inappropriately texted you’re referencing.”
Sing it with me now...
Like a boss.
Love that she keeps it real and never once diminishes her own efforts to seem humble. She shouldn’t. She deserves her accolades and the awards coming her way.
“White people can be just as ethnic!” —that Facebook friend you hate
Maybe if the incident was reported to the police and charges were filed he would be in jail, instead of receiving 2 awards.
Well, I think it’s problematic for her to say something like that for the obvious reason that she has no idea what it means to be black. Shirley Chisholm, as a black woman, can speak of the experience of a black woman. Julie Delpy cannot. Also, the bigger issue is that she seems to think there are women, then there…
Wait, are you saying there are people who are both women and of color? And they are in the moving pictures?!?
Danny Devito actually made a good statement that doesn’t sound douchy or out of touch. He acknowledged there is a problem and there are performances that are overlooked because of the race of the performer.
That’s exactly the issue with this apology. She doesn’t seem to realize what was wrong with her first statement, or why she got the backlash she did (even though it was made pretty clear).
White people in the film industry I’m here to help you. The only acceptable comment about the Academy is “The Academy needs more diversity.” FULL STOP. You can pay me my consulting fee later.
It also seems to me like her apology implies, again, that all women are white women?
“We should stay alert and united and support each other to change this unfair reality and don’t let anyone sabotage our common efforts by distorting the truth.” So this isn’t really an apology. She thinks people distorted the truth, or that people didn’t get what she was saying and concentrated on the wrong thing. She…
