I get the complaints regarding casting in general but if a Jewish director is casting someone to play his own grandfather, yeah, I think he gets to make that call however he wants. 

I understand not wanting to stream losing more than you win for the purposes of your brand - but that’s not the game’s fault and just don’t play that game as opposed to drawing attention to your failing.

Yeah I get that it’s easy to make fun of fast food but the aghast reactions to something so basic had me baffled. What did they think was going on back there? 

Yeah not tasting it is generally the point. It’s why they think there’s something ‘off’ with the junk beers when they’re not freezing cold. 

The fan service definitely worked for me - so I guess the target is other old farts who’ve been watching for decades. Getting to see old companions return, played by their original actors, and have a place in NewWho was great. Especially in the case of Ace and Tegan getting to have emotional moments with their Doctors…

My thoughts exactly. ‘Is this really the example you want to cite?’ Especially when they couldn’t even say if it was about a real or a fictional character. If that situation is a reason for concern maybe do a little research on it first. 

Glad to hear about the NPC trainers. Other than the villain trainers it never made sense that they’d go around attacking you, whether you wanted to duel or not, just because they saw you.
I’ll be fine with it, and in fact encourage it, if the villain trainers still attack where storyline appropriate though. 

Yeah it was pretty clear this was a ‘one and done’ - and the better for it.

I mean ‘Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared’ is internet culture from 2011. I don’t think that counts as kid culture at this point. 

The Touché/Pinochet bit might be the standout stand-alone joke of the season.

Definitely not alone. The time jumps have led to all sorts of weird age questions with the changes in casting but that is one of the more egregious. 

Definitely a ‘it can be both’ scenario. They *are* taking huge liberties but also we haven’t seen bodies for any of the ‘dead’ that really mess with canon so I’m betting on returns. 

Fingers crossed that Disney doesn’t leave said queer representation on the cutting room floor or in easily edited out morsels.
