Yeah but the Titanic officers and crew wouldn't have abandoned their stations like the Lusitania officers did en masse

Yeah I used to spend a lot of time on the Titanica-Encyclopedia website. I used to love just picking a biography at random reading it from top to bottom and seeing if they survived.

Well, John Jacob Astor got an episode of Futurama centered around him. I don't believe Molly Brown hadd that honor

Some people were pulled by the undertow, some people weren't. If you were a strong swimmer you would have made it. The idea of boats being cuahgt in the suction was wrong. It was mostly a worry that the swimmers in the Atlantic would overturn the lifeboats trying to get on board

Yeah, Charles Joughin. Some people doubt the veracity of just how long he was underwater. Whatever the case was, he was an outliar in human evolution bc most people died within 20 minutes. They suggest not having his head fully submerged might have helped.

Amateur Titanic scholar here. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask, and I'll educate you!

I believe Hitchens was one of many lifeboat captains who didn't want to go back because they feared that people would swamp the boat and capsize everyone. Anyone exposed to the 28 degree had a lower chance of survival.

I did a listicle on top ten cool stories of people surviving the Titanic:

Cars 2 and Cars 3 in a span of 24 hours. I am quite pleased w both films. the criticism that it's not enough about cars doesn't fly w me bc I've never been into cars from a mechanics/garage/Tim Allen perspective. Cars 3 is better than the reviews suggest.

The city is named after the "church of the falls" where colonial founders like George Washington went to church so I suppose a church steeple and maybe a praying George Washington

he wasn't really attempting to make news

That's a historically inaccurate statement but it's hardly the same as the hate directed at Lewis on twitter during that time. It was at least an attempt at finding reasonable ground

Spades not right wing

I agree w Genji. He has courted controversy before but that doesn't mean HR was courting controversy this time

It should be hosted in my hometown of Falls Church, Virginia!

Turin and Vancouver had some sound plans, if I'm not mistaken. It's done a lot for St Moritz Switzerland and Grenoble France but they hosted decades ago when it was cheaper.

Hopefully, if few enough cities want it, they'll have to readjust and simply have the IOC fund them.
Barack Obama campaigned for Chicago in 2009, I believe, and the legislature of Illinois was behind it, so as recently as 7 years ago sensible ppl thought the olympics was a good idea.

Did anyone see The Founder….it was like the Social Network with middle-aged balding men from the 1960's. If that movie has an ounce of truth, Ray Croc was a psychopathic criminal

I skipped past chapters 19 and 20 and made it to the end. I was pleased. Solid film
