i don't think the show has ever explored trauma on a realistic level, it toes a really weird and bizarre line that few ppl could pull off so well.

Oh no, I am going to disagree. I think he's one of SNL's best hosts and should be in the 5-timer club. I think he has great comic timing and instincts. Look at him alongside the great Billy Eichner and how he plays off him well as well as pedestrians:

I disagree with Kayla that a comedy show is required to discuss all the implications of gentrification…i think it was a relatively even-sided look in the short screen time it devoted to the issue

city governments who are smart can do some gentrification in ways that don't screw over the poor like coupling a supermarket with subsidized housing for people being displaced. a lot of times the supermarket is moving into an empty lot

gentrification has side effects, is generally what urban scholars and other interested parties have found.

yeah, but you need a mixture of short-term and long-term fixes. i live in a food desert currently and we need a supermarket, there's very little wiggle room for the argument that a place that can supply cheap produce (as opposed to the farmer's market) and alternatives can make lives easier.

yes, that line was very classic tina fey and very improv-based where you enter into someone elses universe no matter how kooky it is. you could see jack donaghy in that

the jokes are also multilayered enough on shows like these that subtitles are necessary to get them too

Six years to late to chime in here, but comment of 2011!

I think the odds that Kayla will inject feminist commentary into any review (whether it directly serves the show) she writes is hovering around 9 out of 10?

I think that was the lead writer from the Jimmy Fallon show?

who is john nugent anyway?

This web site really likes the Rock, are they behind his presidential run?

I don't know about being harassed but class based tension has been as old as our country. I'm sure there's a level of condescension to both privileged people and people who got in through affirmative action. College students aren't models of behavior. I also think people of any political persuasion whether liberal,

Exactly. Sjws generally think the entire world is explained by levels of privilege and that defines you. It's something w room for satire

I disagree, sjws obviously have purer motives and they are on the right side of history, but they're Crusades on college campuses have consequences that sometimes make college campuses more intellectually exclusive and the finer details are certainly ripe for satire. I think there's room in Tina Fey and Robert

I'm center left too, we should be friends!

Agree

Having Kimmy and Xan be friends would be weird, the hidden moments of friendship are good enough for me
