Sokoglam was what worked for me. My skin reacts to most western product like I’m trying to give myself a chemical burn, but it turns out the Korean skincare stuff does exactly what I need. They’ve got some really good thin sunscreens too.

I recently discovered that most of my coworkers think I’m 7-10 years younger than I actually am, for no good goddamn reason. This instantly devolved into a “what do you do for skincare” discussion, which until I was 27 was literally “nothing”. No makeup, no moisturizer, nothing. So other than the no-makeup (maybe?)

Right. And how many people at your work do you talk to about your salary? It’s unnatural to think people know what each other make in TV when, outside of jobs involving timecards, almost NO ONE in other industries has these discussions.

And to be honest, it’s not how most actors would want the industry to work. Because even if you’re in relatively few scenes, the work you’ve done in the past, and the fame you’ve generated from it, may actually provide a show greater value than the work of an actor who’s in more scenes but lacks your resume and

Usually true, but when one actor is onscreen considerably more time than other actors, that argument loses some steam. At that point it looks like fundamental unfairness.

The whole “Colman will be paid properly” is false equivalence. Olivia Colman is one of the most well-known actors in England. Colman would’ve been paid more anyhow.

They know it counts. They’re making it very clear that all of their activities here on in will have a registration component, there were people in every march crowd today registering voters, voting was pretty much the theme of the day.

David’s their communications guy, from what I understand. I think he’s got some mannerisms from debate competitions that are probably putting people off, but he’s also got the intensity to make you pay attention right off the bat. Content-wise, I’d say Ryan Deitsch (the redhead) is actually more compelling in long

I think our job now is to fund the activism of Gen Z and run for office wherever we can. We’re way, way more aligned with Gen Z than the Boomers, we just didn’t have enough cause to flip the table. We did do SOME good stuff, like get the first black president elected and hypercharge the mainstreaming of LGBT... The

Heh. Well, I didn’t say it was a NICE sageuk, but then again pretty much all of Korean history appears to be a long line of palace coups and killing entire families.

As far as transfer addictions go, that one’s pretty new to me.

Try “Rescue Me” (or “Save Me”, can’t remember what the English version is). VERY good in that.

I think that’s “You From the Star” or “My Love from the Star”, that one’s fun and very good. I’m kind of surprised no one’s mentioned “Descendants of the Sun” yet, maybe Song Joong Ki hasn’t had his moment in the US yet? That one’s pretty good too, less typically kdrama in tone if a little overblown.

The lead in QIHM is truly one of my favorites, because he doesn’t just blunder into things. He’s a scholar and his immediate instinct is to blend in, so he quietly studies everything and then acts based on what he’s observed. I love him.

...I forgot “Queen In Hyun’s Man”!

J-dramas are their own kind of crazy, like the woman who lets a street kid stay with her as long as he’s her pet.

Try “I Remember You”. Or “Chief Kim”! That one’s goofy as hell but in a seriously enjoyable way.

They’re getting so much better! Park Shin Hye is sort of my ground zero for completely terrible kissers though, so I may be more forgiving than most. But I do think they’re improving.

Why would you even try? It’s a terrible show, awfully written, absurdly acted, and you will never ever get that fucking “Alllmost PAAA-RA-DISE!” song out of your damn head.

Shopping King Louis, definitely, despite the silly name. And Nam Ji Hyun’s also in Suspicious Partner with Ji Chang Wook, which is kind of a so-so drama but does not have the goldfish-kiss problem AT ALL.
