I would also think it would take more and more oil to keep it all lubricated because the oil will be seeping into the pits instead of sitting on the surface where it’s supposed to.

That’s what I have heard (and my engineering friends will attest to)! I dipped my toes in Calc II and gave up within a week. I’m curious to see if I have the brain power to do it now.
