The scientist whose avatar died in the first movie had a new one, so they absolutely have the tech to make new avatars. Just setting that up is probably the only reason they even showed him with a new avatar, because it otherwise wasn’t important to the plot.

This isn’t really about the story, but that header image makes me realize that Kiri is the only Na’vi or Avatar character that I instantly recognize as their actor. Not even Grace’s Avatar in the first movie.

The moral of ‘Arena’ was that maybe the Gorn were justified in attacking the Federation, and then SNW has them as just evil for the sake of being evil.

I didn’t even like the character, but ‘BTW this character from the last movie who’s not in this one died’ always feels so cheap and lazy.

It’s weird that they’re doing this now after so long, Dragon Ball’s downtime would’ve been the ideal time to do some other Toriyama adaptations.
