I hadn’t realised before, but as soon as The Doctor said “I’m the last of my race”, I suddenly realised that we’re right back where we were in 2005. Which feels a bit of a shame after nearly 20 years of the returned show.

Funnily enough I came to the realisation just the other day that much as I hate the whole Timeless Child nonsense, there was actually a direction it could go that would just about make me happy with it...

Ha! Fair.

“We have Henry Cavill at home.”

That does ring a bell actually. When some of the characters required two or three people to be effectively in a latex bag together for hours at a time...not great. I was going to say why not just delay production, but you never know what kind of rights/legal/tax year considerations might come into play to make that

I’ve seen films that made me wonder if they finished with a script.

I bet they don’t even include the Kra-Van.

Yeah that’s probably pretty reasonable. It’s just always a shame given that the average price drops over a second season given how much of the work has already been done (see also Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, which was an even more mind boggling decision).

I can understand if no-one’s watching something, but weren’t Netflix bragging about how it was their most-watched show the week it came out? Maybe it just had a very short tail, or a big drop-off or something.

Absolutely mind boggling it didn’t get renewed. At least the book series is complete so you can still get the whole story, but would have been nice to see it all on screen.

Deadpool v Wolverine: Dawn of the Mothers

I rewatched the first three last summer for the first time in ages. The first is genuinely brilliant, and a strong contender for one of the best pure Summer blockbusters of the last 25 years.

I maintain there’s an interesting trilogy to be made out of those sequel plans. I just don’t believe Lucas could have made it.

In fairness, everything about that show was such a mess that I wouldn’t have been at all surprised to find out it was actually on Season 3 but no-one was talking about it...

Just dug into it a bit, looks like it never filmed. Benioff and Weiss were working on it when their Star Wars trilogy was announced and so it got put on the back burner, and then they signed a deal with Netflix which put the final nail in its coffin, as I think HBO had bought the option.

Even more shocked than with Batgirl. It was such an unusual move then, but that was coming from a WB that was in a lot of turmoil. Whatever problems Marvel are currently having, they’re not WB-level. Plus, Agatha is an established, popular character. Whether that is enough to sustain a full series is yet to be seen,

It’s all been filmed, so I’d be very, very surprised.

I heard someone come up with the idea that every title the show has gone through will actually the titles for the episodes. I’ve not seen whether they’ve been officially announced yet, so don’t know if it’s been debunked, but I quite like that idea. It’s bonkers, but in keeping at least.

Chibnall would like a word...
