Might be a bit late to the discussion, but when I was in Japan in 2017 I saw printed designs on some of the masks being sold. How popular are these?

The problem I have with blockchain currency is that when it gets expensive to buy, someone can start a new ‘cheaper’ one. There’s nothing to stop anyone from starting their own currency. We’ll get eventually get flooded with thousands of different currencies.

Well, if you’re going to have a smartphone and wifi, then I’d add a translation app loaded for situations where you find your Japanese vocabulary limited. Even if is Google translate.

I just returned from Japan on vacation. One thing that helped riding the trains/subways was having a Suica card (or a Pasmo, but I didn’t get that one).
