Nah, I just suspected Rey had taken the books before Yoda even showed up, and when Yoda said that and burned the tree I was like- yup, that’s the Yoda I remember, trolling Luke while Luke’s trying to be all dramatic.

I feel like you didn’t read my whole comment, but I will try again.

The movie was pretty clear that Rey had the sacred texts- not only were they shown at the end, when Yoda says “there is nothing in that tree that the girl doesn’t already poses” he knew. That is Yoda.

I understand the impulse to believe that all their sacrifices meant nothing, the universe is shrouded in darkness all over again, and nothing they built could withstand that darkness, but did all that they accomplished in the OT really mean nothing?

Up untill this movie, if you could jump to light speed, you could get away clean. This is the first time that was not an option, ever, so this was the first time it made sence to use a light speed ramming maneuver to destroy a bunch of ships- she did not walk away from that one, but it was worth it because the ship

Sometimes anger is how humans respond to things they didn’t know they needed to hear.

Its truly fantastic. Both times I saw it the audience broke into applause multiple times throughout the film. It’s so good.

Master Troll Slayer, teach me your ways.

Maybe take some time and read some actual myths and hero stories, like those of Gilgamesh, or Hercules.

Fear leads to anger, bro. And those officers are in a constant state of fear. The rigidity, obedience, and the illusion of stoicism is their defense mechanism (and I have actually witnessed this effect first hand, its not supposition- people in abusive relationships act the exact same way).

This is so cool, but the timing worries me.

No Vampire Hunter D? Sadness.

No evidence? Kylo Ren fired every single weapon they had at him and he brushed it off. He fought Kylo Ren and handed his ass to him, and then he just *vanished*, something so far outside the realm of what is technologically possible that a non force user would have no real way to understand it as anything other than

I actually interpreted that as meaning the dark side is rooted in fear, which is a strait up call back to the OT. Luke saw Darth Vader, whom he has been told he must face, and he is terrified. Rey’s fear is that she is alone, that her family is gone and never coming back, or worse, never cared about her to begin with.

We’re not in college any more- time to grow up and visit the vineyards.

It was a pretty chaste kiss. Maybe little pecks like that are totes the norm for siblings in star wars universe. Like Europeans and their cheek pecks.

Birth? Maybe of a new generation of them. :-P

I think you mean Finn and Poe. Wrong love triangle.

Finn is so interesting! He is the only one who doesn’t think of himself as a hero, but he both desperately wants to be and is afraid to be. His growth is so much subtler, because he starts off still trying to run away, to save his life and Rey’s, and in the space of the movie he goes from that to “I will save everyone

I mean, he could just be bank rolling the rebellion. Wars don’t pay for themselves.
