Sorry if this is hot take-y: This is not a trend, this is an EPIDEMIC. Powerful men with access to children need to be monitored.

OT: but OMG, this grouchy pony I know is totally letting me hug him now in exchange for carrots. And with his winter coat, he looks like a teddy bear.

Yes it is Jill Stein and her voters’ fault and not ALL YOUR RACIST, SCARED NEIGHBORS VOTING FOR DONALD

Doing this on a Friday afternoon, so the general public will forget by Monday morning since it’s the end of the news cycle.

Methinks the lady doth protest too much.

Why even bother?!!?!?!?! Seriously, what is he so afraid of?

If you do not love marijuana, you are not doing it right.

You really don’t know anything about them. Google Lisa McPherson for starters.

Someone who is not a millionaire and famous has probably not the resources to sue them. This is the same organization who entered a self described war against the IRS, used things like bugging of government offices and the theft of classified material and ended up achieving their goal (tax extemption). Whoever sues

Well, I bet they eventually settle, maybe even giving her the full amount. Because the discovery phase would really be something they would want to avoid with someone that can afford good lawyers. They don’t hold the sway they once did, there was a time when that series would have been buried before the ink on the

I think you may be a little ignorant about Leah Remini and her experience, but opinions based on nothing seem to be the new “cult” in America these days.

You and me both. I skipped her book originally on my book tour of Scientology until someone here recommended it, and I’m hooked. She has zero fucks to give and I love it.

She may be planning to donate it should she win. That said, you know this is a way to fish for documents and info, right? And who but a rich person could afford to take on CoS? Plus, the fact that she was a semi-successful actress doesn’t mean she wasn’t damaged by this cult.

“I don’t understand any of this, but I’m going to comment anyway! Here’s my hot take!”

Scientology takes it a bit further than many (as far as the organization itself is concerned). Some people are trying to sum up the fucked up shit they have done but honestly you have to read in detail or watch a few documentaries to understand it. The best I can say is think of some of the nastier cult tendencies

the church wrote to the network, as well as parent ABC, calling Remini a “spoiled, entitled diva” and “has-been actress,” in efforts to quash Remini’s show

It’ll be a miscavige of justice if she isn’t awarded that paltry sum.

“... seeking to make a buck off of her former religion

In her book she was very much working class when she started. Her mom was dating a guy in the cult and they all moved out there and lived in a shitty apartment and did crap jobs for the church. Sadly there are a lot of poorer people hooked into this. They’re just treated worse.

Ladies and gents, your de facto First Lady.
