You should look into this.  If she had an AP1 car, FSD was never offered.  It was Enhanced Auto Pilot.  I know because I had a 2016 Model X with AP1.  If she had AP2 & paid for FSD, Tesla will upgrade the hardware for free.  If it was a late 2016 car, she probably had AP2.

So, PIN to drive. Tesla introduced a similar feature awhile back after a bunch of thefts as well. It works but is a hassle to input a PIN every time you driver but Kudos to Dodge for giving owners the option.

Even though the event sometimes violates noise and traffic ordinances, it doesn’t pose major threats to anyone in The Weaver, nor does it break other city rules.”

Here’s the way I see it. Does the residents complaint have merit? Yes. There are some law being broken. Are they over reacting and being sensationalist by

And that is the real problem here. Imagine YOUR wife and kids in one of those oncoming cars.”

And while your doing that, image the Tesla is a 15 year old with a learners permit, someone learning a manual who stalls it, or a douche in a Mustang thinking he can make it through a slot in traffic.  Every person on the

Dude, no one says the software is perfect and finished. They say the exact opposite and explicitly tell you it may do this very thing. Everything worked out exactly as planned here. The dude was alert, took control, was perfectly safe, and gathered valuable data to feedback into the training system. This is EXACTLY

Do you have any issue being part of the iterative process of a 16 year old learning to drive? They are on the roads as well. How is this any different?

The type of car here is irrelevant. The same exact accidents happen with other cars. Therefore, the criticism isn’t valid.

So, plenty of other people have accidents on suspended licenses, plenty of other people hit stopped cop cars, and plenty of other types of cars hit trucks. None of this is news except if you are once again trying to smear Tesla. Look, AP/FSD/Waymo and whatever future self driving vehicles (even eventual L5) have and

The already charge EV owners big money when registering to cover for our lack of paying gas tax.  Now, they want more.  Figures.

YES! This is the kind of rational thinking we need. Do you have an auto-blog and I can start to visit instead of Jalopnik? I’m looking for a rational person’s take and its becoming more and more clear that no one at Jalopnik is capable of that.

Does it fill a real need? I would bet the number of people that have truly run out of juice to the point their car has stopped is virtually nil. I mean, honestly, how do they think there is enough demand for this to support a business model when virtually no one needs this service and more chargers are popping up

Yeah, I love how everyone said just wait till a real car manufacture makes an EV and yet Ford, VW, and others have been delayed, had recalls, and various other problems getting their Tesla killers out the door. Maybe instead of telling Tesla that #makingcarsishard, we should all acknowledge that #makingevsishard.

Here’s an idea. Why don’t we wait for someone to get one, try it out, and then give us some actual feedback.

Yup. This is insane and shouldn’t be allowed. First, if it was Mitch McConnell, Jalopnik would be freaking out. Second, every company I’ve ever worked for makes us take training on conflict of interest. Heck, I can’t even go to a dinner or sporting event with a customer/supplier/etc. because it might look bad.  This

With my Tesla, I have my phone as the primary key and the NFC card they give you as my backup in my wallet.  That way, if I loose/break my phone, I’m not stranded.  Several companies also sell NFC rings which will also operate the vehicle which could be a great backup.

Tesla claims... Tesla alleges... Unclear if statements should be public... etc.

Their forecast hasn’t changed but their ability to execute is becoming more clear hence the run up.

I don’t want to see Tesla fail.”

I wish I could give you more stars!
