idk, I think Solo turned out fine. It was just a faff to get there.

It's too bad the fans went nuts when The Last Jedi tried to take the series somewhere.
Baby Yoda is my Star Wars now.
I would argue that TLJ is the best of the sequels — certainly the best-looking — but that’s not saying much. The stuff with Rey and Luke is great but the B-plot with the chase story is deadly dull — and a ripoff of BSG 2.0's “33.” (And yes, I’m sure Johnson recognized the irony of a Star Wars movie ripping off Battlest…
They took a little risk and went to a slightly weird place in the second one. Then they ran back into their familiar little home and showed off their action figure collection in very rapid succession for over 2 hours.
I dunno. There are things that I like in each movie — even TRoS — but on the whole the sequels just feel so uninspired and unambitious. Like they were just unwilling to go to weird or places because they were afraid of a prequel-style backlash. And visually they’re kind of dull, full of obvious CGI but they tried like…
I mean, the Left Behind DLC has a user score over 8.0, and that’s where Ellie came out as a lesbian in the first place.
This is a big game that will make a shit ton of money for its creators regardless of bad reviews or hate campaigns.
Are our lives really all that much better if surrounded by these types?
So not that anyone should get too worked up over an audio episode of anything, but if being trans is going to be a part of a character’s identity, especially a “FIRST!!1!!” character with said identity, don’t you want them to, you know, address it? Part of why Tyrion Lannister’s character is so compelling is that he…
I think you’ll find most British people are fairly bewildered by the whole political language of trans-rights and are pretty ambivalent about labelling dissenters as TERFs etc. and that the people doing it are also a tiny number of people.
“The reality of the situation is a large majority of people (especially in her native UK) probably see nothing wrong with her statement vs. people who want to cancel her.”
I personally loved that the show went full circle and left us with the original ending of Army of Darkness before cancellation. We are exactly where we were in 1992 (just with one ending now.) Maybe now we can get another 25 years of “When is Evil Dead 4 coming out?”
Rian Johnson should’ve been the one given charge of the Sequel Trilogy, not JJ Abrams.
“Broom Boy Skywalker.”
“I hope you get a writer and director who is not Abrams.”
I remember when losing your mind because a show didn’t give you what you think you wanted (you have no idea what you wanted). Toxic reviews and comment sections did more damage than anything else, like the last few Star Wars movies, Star Trek shows and anything else a fan boi or grrl thinks they are the gatekeeper on.…
I cannot imagine anyone other than Matt Ryan playing Constantine. Honestly, it’s like a Barry Allen situation all over again: I still wish Grant Gustin was in the film instead of Ezra Miller. (No hate towards Ezra, it’s just that Grant *is* Barry Allen to me.)
Also, the music (some of it by Brian Eno!). You can totally sing along with the opening theme by chanting the movie’s title. You can’t do this with a whole lot of movies.
When talking about Avatar, I think it’s important to distinguish between “long-awaited” and “long-planned”.
