I am struck by how much these findings resemble the well-established lessons of mutual fund investing: broad-based index funds always out-perform the vast majority of actively managed funds. What's interesting is how much better chalk is than either group, meaning, despite the #7 vs #8 matchup the selection committee probably knows more about what they are doing than the experts.
