These companies want no regulation, but they also don’t want responsibility. In my mind, if a company doesn’t want the burden of regulation, then fine, do what you want, but people are going to hold you responsible when you hurt/damage/kill people.

Wait, so, the guy’s credit card gets deactivated because of a fraud detection issue the day before his trip (stated in the article), he takes multiple forms of payment with him (also stated in the article), and got stranded because of erroneous information in Tesla’s app and due to a quirk in Tesla’s billing system…
Here’s me and my wife overlanding to Zion National Park in 2015...
Agreed completely, but for one small thing:
Goddammit.
Was trying to figure out why my newly rescued 1980 BMW e21 wouldn’t run good. It was down on power and idled really badly, it felt like it was running on less than 4 cylinders. At first I thought it was a bad O2 sensor (the O2 sensor light was on), so I replaced that. I cleaned and then replaced all the spark plugs.…
Or you don’t have loud neighbors.
No, properly designed and aimed LED headlights are just fine. I have not been blinded by a new Prius/Tundra/Model S/X/3 and any number of other newer vehicles that come from their factories with properly designed LED headlights, and I drive a car, not an SUV or truck.
Meh, I think we’re further along in EV acceptance than that. I live in a small, isolated town in rural Oregon, and we’ve being easily relying on a used Model S for over 4.5 years now. Granted, I’m definitely an early adopter, but the number of Model S’s, X’s and 3s I’m seeing around now, in addition to the Bolts,…
It is when it comes to new construction.

Ok, I get it. You’re telling us that what is clearly a concept car is not road legal. Gotcha. I think most people are able to figure that out on their own.
Why are the headlights illegal? Other cars have had continuous light bars across the fronts (Mercury Sable is the first one I can think of). I think they could easily have the *headlights* on either side, and have the center be like DRLs. Rivian’s doing that exact thing.
No, an electric Brat!
I gotta say, watching/reading everyone losing their absolute shit over this thing has been the most entertainment I’ve had from a product release in years!
Those regulations do not apply to trucks, only light passenger vehicles.
How are the manufacturers of any alternate computers, tablets or smart phones any different than apple? I don’t see Microsoft, Google, Samsung, Motorola or any other computer/smart phone company standing up to the Trump admin either...
I’ve been to a few Superchargers that have pull through parking. Its rare, but they do exist.
And, I mean, FAA drone registration costs $5 for 3 years... sooo... yeah.
You got lucky.
