See the movie Good Hair, a Chris Rock documentary. It’s astounding to me how far people will take the desire to look like a white woman, and how sickening it is that so much marketing and advertising preys on that desire.

Anyone who names their dog Machiavelli is a person who’s obviously fun to party with.

Oh, yeah. That guy is always stirring up shit. Never knows when to keep his mouth shut.

The problem with a “Christian mission” is its first cousin, “manifest destiny.”

He’s apparently a chameleohuman ... except that because he can’t change his outward appearance to match whatever happens to be behind him, he just changes his rhetoric to match whoever happens to be in front of him.

Hell with fining the fan. Drop him on the field for a little mano a mano with whichever player was targeted.

“Forced rhubarb.” Fascinating.

And here I thought rhubarb was only for pies. And cobbler. Heck, even cake. Who knew it’s also used to pelt naked people.

So nice for Zuckerberg to rub elbows with the plebians in their natural habitat. He probably took a shower immediately after boarding his private jet (just assuming he has one) to wash off all that commonness.

Wow. Just fucking wow. All I got from this dude’s, uh, “literary exposition” is that he’s operating from fear.

Our <it pains me to say this> president.

I would be very interested in reading Deadspin coverage of rugby players and memory problems/concussions/CTE.

Here we are in 2017 and marijuana is *still* classified as a Schedule I drug. This classification puts it on par with heroin, LSD and mescaline, among others.

So is the takeaway here that he actually said something intelligible?

This is excellent information.

First, your handle cracks me up. Well played.

I will not claim to be intimately familiar with the ITF’s notice policies but reading Deadspin’s reportage on the Sharapova story led me to a New York Times article, which said this:

Yeah, the lackadaisical part was a bit unfair, given her career slam. As far as the ‘tude, it’s always better when an athlete who gives a shit about his/her sport is reinstated — instead of an athlete who uses the sport as a means to brand-building.

Delayed reply ... dinner was served, and I was hungry! At any rate, I do agree that she was lazy. And poetic license may have got the better of me when I used the term “railroaded.”

Well, she got a 15-month “sentence” for being on the “wrong side of a wavering line,” as Laura put so well. One could argue that’s a case of being railroaded, especially with all of the medical justifications used by other players who take banned drugs.
