So...wait a minute...the movie that has a guy PUNCHING A LION actually got decent reviews?  That scene in the trailer is so spectacularly stupid that I pretty much wrote the movie off.  Guess I’ll have to check the reviews a little closer...

The only reason I was looking forward to this game was because of the blast I had playing the ‘dumb fun’ of Saints Row 3 and 4. Sounds like they went with the ‘all of the violence, none of the fun!’ philosophy of a reboot...which is just not smart, particularly for this series, since it was all the dumb stuff that

You know I read that not too long after this article was posted--apparently he was ‘semi-retired’ but agreed to come back to put together the credits as he loved the source material so much.

Oh man I’ve seen “The Nice Guys” a half-dozen times already, and I’m already looking forward to watching it again.  Makes a great double-feature with “Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang”, so hopefully that’s streaming somewhere, too!

Roku!  I know you already have a ‘smart’ TV or whatever, but even the smartest TV’s are still pretty dumb.  I have an LG that has maybe the single-worst layout for apps I’ve ever seen, with it’s biggest competition being my Samsung TV.  I get they want you to use their stuff on the TV, but you’d think they’d make it

He’s only slightly less creepy in this role.

Yeah he is doing a tremendous job.  His description in last week’s episode made my skin crawl.  This has been a fantastic show--one of the best of a very good year.

Right there with you in having bought the originals as they were released (and the collections over the years—finally received the “Absolute” editions as a gift a few years ago). I re-read the series from start to finish at least once a year (the originals, I don’t re-visit the things that have been released since

I understand your point here, I promise I do, but I think it can be easily argued with Watchmen in that they didn’t have powers in the series —which was the entire point (obviously aside from Dr Manhattan, and I’m not sure you can argue those were ‘powers’ so much as a change to his state of being)—yet they’re

Pretty good theory. The tone of that story (and to a degree the Constantine story that...follows? Is right before it?) is so dark and disturbing that I almost stopped reading it after that arc. Glad I didn’t as the rest of the series has a much different tone to it. Still some horror elements, of course (can’t have

Having read the comics I was beyond excited-- after seeing the trailers. It is probably my second-favorite comic series ever (after Watchmen) and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed the first episode. Casting seems spot on, and the changes to the source material make sense (some of the more ‘out there’ concepts from

The stupid ass football player substory are all the losers. I don’t even remember their names and was extra annoyed every time they were on screen. Of course they were going to die. I’m always annoyed when a character goes ‘extra evil’ for the purpose of causing a road block for the protagonists and literally nothing

After reading the rest of the comments I had to look the scene I was talking about up, as the entire sequence has some pretty amazing subtitles:

100% agreed—my buddy and I watched the final two episodes and were laughing our butts off at some of the subtitle choices (all while wondering how a deaf person would know what any of the descriptions meant). I believe “Eddie shreds violently” (or something to that effect--though I’m absolutely sure that ‘shreds’ was

Give him a break, man--it’s not like he went to Harvard

That’s already happening (and far better IMO--really enjoying some of the new Star Trek stuff)

With Filoni having a hand in all these shows I’m not really sure why people are so worried.  He sometimes takes canon more seriously than he should (though it’s that sensibility that helped Clone Wars actually improve the prequel trilogy).

Yeah it really seems so obvious I can’t believe anyone is out there thinking “why do people like this???”--because FUCKING DINOSAURS!  Duh.

You should also mention that checking your brain at the door is highly recommended, as this movie is dumb with a capitol -umb.

That kid was so slippery no adult can catch her!  She doesn’t have to worry about following your rules, man!
