In what universe? I have yet to see an ad an Hulu, other than the five second “Watch Brooklyn 99 on Fox!”

What was bad about the Capaldi era? It’s my favorite of the entire show, classic Who included.

It’s crazy to me how the debate around The Last Jedi shifted from “I didn’t care for the themes” to “It’s an objectively bad movie from a technical standpoint.” It’s like the people who didn’t like it can’t stand that some people DID like it, so to try to shame us into also hating it they have to argue that 90+% of

Definitely not. Ignoring the fact that any actor is going to have some way to get out of their contract built in, does Disney sacrifice what little goodwill they have left to get what basically amounts to, to them, pocket change?

I understand they’re all legally obligated to appear, but I bet of Bautista, Pratt and all the others banded together and said “We’re not doing this movie without him, and we’d be happy to pay whatever fee gets us out of the contract,” then Disney would give in.

7) Animal Crossing: New Leaf - 11.78 million units (includes the Welcome Amiibo re-release)

Unfortunately Wizards is super strict about proxies and if they ever find out that a shop is advertising a tournament with proxies they get pretty pissy. It's understandable for a format like Standard, but makes no sense for Vintage.

From what you’ve wrote it seems like you are actually confusing “I don’t like this” with “This is objectively bad.”

Yes, actually. I’ll give you “Kill the Moon” because I know it’s divisive, but I think outside of some exceptionally dodgy science even by Doctor Who standards, it’s a pretty compelling episode.

The tone was off.

“I’ve seen far more attempts at genuine discussion and proper criticism (that is to say - critical analysis of the film) being shot down in flames”

Everyone is laughing at you. I started when you tried to quote a Rotten Tomatoes audience score as an objective fact.

Go to r/DoctorWho or r/Gallifrey and ask what people’s favorite series is, and I can almost guarantee that Series 9 will be number 1. The recent episode battle on r/Gallifrey ended up heavily favoring Capaldi episodes. Hell, if you asked me my top 3 episodes they’d probably all be Capaldi episodes.

I gotcha, but I have to say that is not my experience. From the fan forums I frequent (mostly the two main Doctor Who subreddits) the Moffat years are very highly regarded. There are always going to be people who disagree, but the general opinion is overwhelmingly positive.

I don’t understand this. The Eleventh Doctor is insanely popular, and go to most fan forums and ask them what their favorite series of New Who is and they number one answer will almost certainly be Series 9, with Series 5 right behind.

The Moffat era was the best of the show, especially the Capaldi years. He wasn’t let go, he chose to go. Chibnall even asked him to stay on and he said no. It’s ok to not like his episodes, but you don’t need to make stuff up.

Lots of people do care!

I can legitimately understand people who disagree with the themes of TLJ or the direction in which Johnson took it, but the conversation seems to have shifted more towards “It’s a objectively bad from a filmmaking and story telling perspective” and that just baffles me.

I wouldn’t call it good, but I agree that TPM is the best of the prequels. RotS gets a lot of love, but the only real redeeming quality of it is McGregor’s Obi-Wan.

He somehow aged 20 years between the two. It’s kind of amazing how bad he is in A View to a Kill.
