Oh look, another pickup truck.
Oh look, another pickup truck.
Yes but we don’t want to pay for it.
Yes! They already have the ST trim, which I thinks looks great. Just give it a tiny more juice, a real engine (no wet timing belt, ever), maybe lower it an inch or two. If they kept the pricing sane it could be a hit.
Good nomination. I actually like the Buick Envista cousin, but the engines in these are a no-go for me.
They long ago stole all the intellectual property they need, so this action does no harm to them.
Something pint-sized and cheap like a Hyundai Venue ST with a manual. I’m drawing a blank because there are so few cheap cars now. Maybe a Toyota CorollaCross XRS or something like that.
I think it was just in PZEV/California emissions states.
That is the well-known workaround for this, for people who service and keep the cars long enough. You just get a Pep Boys/AutoZone/Amazon universal CAI kit and filter.
At first glance I thought it was a Kia Forte. To be fair, the Forte sedan looks nice.
Love the interplay of fabric, textures, colors. Also- column shifters need to become a thing again. A shift lever or buttons or a dial in the center console is just a stupid waste of space. I get that people will lament the passing of manual transmissions in all cars, but I’m onboard with regen flippers on EVs. To me…
Didn’t Honda do a robot (“Asimo”) like 20 years ago? A 2 seat gull wing “cab” makes no sense, nor is a 20 seat van going to do anything an existing vehicle can’t do better. This guy gets high off sniffing his own farts. I can’t take anything from Tesla seriously. We know about him, but do any of his “super-hardcore”…
This would be my nominee for the recent “boring-ass-cars-you-love” poll/slide deck. I’d pay $5k. Something about PA, they have some really optimistic sellers up there.
There were actually V-6 5-speeds, in convertibles too.
Simply slicing down the beltline through the doors and enlarging the side glass would make this car near perfect. I had a 06 Mz3 and this design has never grown on me.
Ford Festiva aka Kia Pride Mazda 121. Have you seen the Pride EV retro-mod making the rounds? I could totally dig a retro-80's 5-spd manual EV subcompact hatchback. Yes the range is low, but it would be the perfect runabout car or 2nd car.
I get excited when I see a 2003 with the 1 year only grill and front fascia.
This is everything I hate about social media, youth, and popular “culture.”
Of course he took his shirt off.
What an idiot.
I’m not sure that paint is OEM. Don’t recall them in that color, and with the brown vinyl seats and white top it all looks a bit haphazard. There is a facelifted later version of these that smoothed the edges a bit, and on the convertibles, added a rear quarter window that improved the “top up” appearance quite a bit…
re: photo, I love the Spirit/Acclaim. Yeah R/T trim is cool, but the ES trim got a lot of the appearance upgrades.
