Why is it obnoxious? The Last Jedi was a total mess structurally and thematically. Beautifully shot, but Johnson shouldn’t have been let anywhere near the writing.

Didn’t Bubastis (or the original Bubastis) get Doctor Manhattanized in the Intrinsic Field Separator at Veidt’s Anarctic palace?

Things are looking bleak overall. Major corporations all over the world are siding with dictators with their corporate interests in mind.

Say whatever you want about the player, but penalizing the commentators is nothing short of collective/kin punishment. What in the actual fuck were they supposed to do?

I have the exact fear of deep dark water, except I won't even get in for just a little bit. I've gotten panicked from this in games like Far Cry 3 and Assassin's Creed Black Flag (I think Kotaku even did a piece on players getting panicky during Far Cry 3 shark hunting).

I can sympathize. I was (and to some degree, still am) a horror wuss as a kid. I’m a lot better about it now, largely because I have a better understanding of how horror elements work (I love horror fiction, but not so much films; I jump-scare easily).

In related news, Fox -a company willing to throw video games under the bus for gun violence instead of blaming lax gun control laws- caught wind of the Blizzard Hong Kong controversy and reported on it with the headline “Game Over For Democracy.” Read more

I think part of the reason Uber and Lyft are able to keep soldiering on is that there’s a seemingly inexhaustible supply of hard-up folks that are willing to give it a try, often in spite of the horror stories they’ve heard.  You’ve got to think that that supply of labor will dry up sooner than later.

In fairness, it’s not just Trump. We also do this after every mass shooting, every black man killed by a cop, every exposure of corporate malfeasance, etc etc ad infinitum. Read more
