How can we be watching something “in real time” that took lightyears to get here?
But is 22 million years later really “real time”?
As I navigate through ads and click continue reading even more ads on this clunky, shitty site I often wish Mr. Emslie would take this series to The Autopian so I can be done with this shit once and for all.
It seems a bit pricy but it is a car that would be easy to work on, easy to fix, and last a long time. The internal engine mods are a bit worrying. if only it was a few grand less it would be a good price on a car that would go a long time and survive a lot of abuse and neglect.
More toe-in-cheek than anything
This sounds like the behavior of someone that suffers major mental illness, not a rational human of sound mind.
You read my comment and got ‘Elon bootlicker’?
I think I love the Cybertruck. Elon’s product and design ideas are obnoxious as hell in mainstream vehicles (everything in a screen, steering yoke, self-driving that works some of the time). But for a low-volume limited-production vehicle like this, it’s fine! I see this as the Lamborghini of pickup trucks — it drives…
And in real-world use, it will probably end up being even worse. Yes, definitely give me the largely untested and significantly more complicated twin-turbo I6 instead of a big dumb lumpy V8 that’s essentially been around since the early 60s.
“Unfortunately, this downward spiral came with a bunch of self-destructive coping mechanisms, including hundreds of dollars of in-app purchases, lots of fast food, vaping, and over-drafting her bank account.”
The solution is to sell the car and get out of debt with a cheap used car she can actually afford. The solution is to not buy a new car, because she can’t afford it. As I wrote in the article.
Steve Matchett talked about this a lot in The Mechanic’s Tale - not only do teams need to know about every part, and track it in terms of space (in inventory, installed in car, etc.), but every such part is tracked in terms of # of race hours, any incidents the car experienced, etc.
Tattoo lines don’t stay perfect as the ink diffuses out, this thing probably won’t work in a year or two.
The two that I care about to pay extra for are heated seats - I’ve got back problems and I use them year round, it really helps - and satellite radio - FM reception in New England is poor in general and AM is fine for news, but doesn’t have much music. Forget cell service - it barely works around here, so streaming…
The problem is these files are large and hard to share on the internet.
It’s an Australian window tint name, the only one I know off the top of my head.
Any Truck, SUV or Jeep with giant wheels and rubberband tires.
I can’t I spent my extra 11 grand on Ed Hardy shirts.
Uh-huh. And if Dodge offered such a garish wrap screaming “CHARGER” all over that hot 4-door Hellcat as a Last Call edition, I bet Jalopnik would’ve pissed ‘n’ moaned to no end about how gauche it looked.
