I dunno. It'd be like how they did Wonder Woman in BvS. Which was one of the better received things about the film, I guess.

cut, paste, print

Finn Jones said in another interview that this show is the Danny character acting much like an adolescent, and that Defenders is him more coming into his own.

To be fair, Rand's privilege is a notable part of his character.

Ellis is doing Netflix actually, he's part of a show based on Castlevania that's being made.

Remember how they actually had those specials after the success of the first season and before the second season premiered? What a roller coaster.

They've been batting pretty well on Netflix overall, I still give them the easy benefit of the doubt. Just get Warren Ellis in on the project while lifting the best bits from Charlie Huston's run. Can't beat wearing someone else's face in front of the mirror!

Heroes is pretty hard to beat.

Sounds like they were really trying to rush through to Defenders. Not the best idea.

Yeah, it's more the question of did he really find a tomb and die? Is Khonshu real? etc

In a recent interview regarding The Defenders, Mike Colter was saying his friendship with Danny is mainly him leveling Rand out with his wisdom/experience while trying to temper his exuberance. Hopefully they'll get it right, sounds like they're on the right track.

Maybe they don't have hair irons in magical Tibet, eh?!

The themes of heritage and other things the AAIronFist movement wanted out of Iron Fist is a part of Shang Chi's background also, while Danny has his own stories regarding race to tell. It really wouldn't have left much to say or do with Shang thematically. I'd love to see Shang clown him still though in the future.

They left that behind in the comics a long time ago dude. They'd easily retcon that out for TV.

I agree there's something to be said for a good slow burn, but I don't think the writers felt confidant in committing to that, and people generally just don't seem to have patience anymore.

They do in fact do China

I'd watch a 13 episode show of Iron Fist battling Martin Shkreli

Yeah, that may have been fun, but that's also Moon Knight's M.O., and I feel he'll be one of the next to get a series in the future.

MAGNETO WAS (ALT) RIGHT

A lot of the preview reviews of the first 6 episodes skewered the show for moving too slow or being "boring" - if the writers had drawn out Danny's mental state or him finally using the iron fist, there would have been a mass critic conniption.
