No one ever said his new work would be selling cars, the judge just said he had to work, that could be at Walmart.

I understand what you are saying, but I think the judge wanted these people paid back and the only way for them to do so is for this guy to keep working. So he locks him down on a GPS tracker and makes him work and work so that the folks he scammed get their money back. Seems like a better application of justice.
I can see her boat insurance company suffering...
C’Mon now. She’s just had vandals damage one of her yachts. Can’t you see she’s suffering?
Who uses logic and math these days?
“Not only are Europeans generally more protective of privacy and more open to breaking up monopolies...” This is really sad. The US revolution started in part because England enforced a monopoly on tea (which lead to the Boston Tea Party) and cracked down on privacy in their attempts to put down dissent. We should be…
It’s going to be interesting to see how the shadow profiles run by Facebook which could contain personal information are in any way compliant with GDPR; let alone how Facebook can possibly comply with GDPR when it allows Facebook users to post what amounts to personal information about non-Facebook users without their…
If I were the EU, I’d put up several millions of dollars to kickstart a Facebook competitor, put all the nice privacy bells and whistles, then ban Facebook.
And he’s still not doing anything good with it, is he?
How will you be remembered: As one the three big internet giants along with Steve Jobs and Bill Gates who have enriched our world, or as the genius who created a digital monster that is destroying our democracy and society?
Any person can make a “knowing and voluntary” waiver of their constitutional rights. It gets a bit sticky when you try to waive your right to something against public policy. Of course, that assumes there is a meaningful choice. If every employer has these terms, then you don’t have much of a choice.
Maybe its time for everyone who isn’t a critical worker to take a day off.
“stole a seat on the Supreme Court”
?
They haven’t followed that concept for a decade to two, now. At least removing it is honest.
dammit, add the “don’t be evil” clause back in
They’ve been evil for quite some time now.
Not like it was some guiding principle in the first place
With the exception of Julia Roberts, I’ve met or dealt with all of the others, none of them are down to earth. They all have crazy bitch tendencies. Julianne Moore is the most down to earth, in my experience.
Also, he said she was “out to lunch,” which doesn’t mean crazy. It means not aware of what’s going on. What my mom would call “dippy.” Was he lovely in that interview? No. Was it asshole level? No, I wouldn’t say so.
With the exception of Julia Roberts, I could see any/all of the rest of them being just fine but maybe Hugh thinks they're snobby because he rubbed them the wrong way and they then made it apparent that they didn't like him. But they could also all be snobby in general, so who knows.
