The R129 has aged gracefully. I think this is priced appropriately, but it’s not the one I’d buy. The only reason I’d opt for the 6 over the 8 (or 12) is that the 6 was available with a 5-speed, which this one lacks.

The problem with 1000 mile range EVs is building and buying a 1000 mile range EV. That’s too much battery to be hauling around “just in case”. Too much in resources for the battery manufacture, and (more immediately important to the consumer) too much money.

EVs are not the magic bullet they are being sold as, but they are well suited as a replacement for ICE as a primary (but not only*) vehicle. For the many households that have more than one vehicle, changing one (or more) to an EV for daily use makes a lot of sense.
